Hot showers, great wifi, and an excellent price make this hostel a good deal, but the hosts make it a very pleasant stay. The family provides a small breakfast, friendly greeting, and suggestions for Titicaca and Inca excursions. You can bargain down the price of the lake excursion. It's not located in the center, but it's a ten-minute walk through a rather safe city to the best restaurants, 25 minutes to the lake.

We enjoyed our stay in Puno, not least because of the hostel we stayed in. The staff is a very friendly and helpful family who lives on the third floor, so that we had the whole second floor for ourselves most of the time. There is a nice common room with TV an free internet access, and the full equiped kitchen is free for use at any time. The whole hostel was always clean (the bathroom as well!). For sunny days there is even a roof top with a view on the city and lake Titicaca.

The couple who run the hostel are very helpful and didn¡t try to push tours on anyone but that was probably because we were all there Candelaria. I toilets & showers could have been cleaned a little more frequently but on the whole it weas a good hostel.

Had a very nice stay at Puma Backpackers in Puno. The staff was very friendly and helpful in arranging a visit to Los Uros as well as a bus to Copacabana. Nice, clean accommodations. Good breakfast, included pancakes. Overall a good value hostel in Puno.

While the hostel was located a bit far from Plaza de Armas (about 15 minutes away), the taxi ride wasn't too expensive and should only cost around 5-8 soles. If you have any trouble finding your way to the hostel, you can always go to the tourism police station located in Plaza de Armas, on the right side of the church. The beds were clean, showers were warm, the managers are hospitable and really nice, and the breakfast was also nice and simple. It consisted of good bread, jam, butter, and tea.

We enjoyed our one day stay at Puma Backpackers. The hosts were really kind and they made us feel at home. He helped us out with a trip to the Titicaca islands and with a bus to Cusco.

The husband and wife who run this hostel are amazing hosts. When I arrived with elevation sickness, they quickly made me cacao tea that made me feel brand new. They also helped us book our full day tour of lake titcaca which was the best deal we could find. Transportation, lunch, and stops at Uros and Tequile islands were included. Facilities are super clean. Felt like we stayed at grandma's house for the weekend. Sending much love from the United States.

noa bit far from center.
