Everything was inconsistent. I was in a 6 bed and it was great. Lockers, good internet access and good bathrooms...and then the next room, the lockers were broken and the internet was intermittent and the bathroom was unclean. The staff was pretty non-present and there was no one participating in any of the "so called" events the hostel hosted.
Very prestative staff and with a very good location. Easy to go to center and others places by bus and with good options for eating and places to do money exchanges nearby. Definitly recommended if you are wanting to be in a calm and joyfull place to be in Montevideo.
The place is really easy to get by bus to and from airport and other parts of Montevideo. Nice space for barbecuing. Rooms are small for the number of beds, and because of that, not really clean (although the staff did the cleaning often), and not many bathrooms in the house. Good atmosphere, with great people!
I spent New Year's Eve here and enjoyed the cookout and the great hospitality.
Punto Berro Hostel is a very homey, welcoming hostel in Pocitos, the best neighborhood in Montevideo. I stayed because the local Expat Christmas Eve Party was held in their beautiful outdoor patio and our hosts cooked an Uruguayan Steak Parradilla barbeque. The hostel is two blocks from the waterfront Rambla, a great place to watch the fireworks. Sleep in the 6 bunk, mixed dorm was very good and all was very quiet.
Good place, very security but yours installations are so old.
A quiet hostel close by the beach, not that of a great atmosphere but at the end I was surprised that they had a POS to pay by card.
