Puripica is a nice family run hostel about a ten minutes walk from town. The staff are friendly and helpful and are happy to assist with booking excursions and tours. Note that only the private rooms get breakfast - tea/coffee, toast, Ham, cheese, jam. We also had no hot water in our room, so be prepared for cold showers. Wi-Fi is available only in the office. Overall a comfortable & pleasant stay.

A really lovely place to Stay in San Pedro. True, you have to walk about 500metres to the main plaza, and the road can be dark at night, but take a norch and hey presto. The lovely owner Alejandra can pick you up from the bus station and help you with tours. All round, a lovely hostel. Highly recommended.

This hostel is about 15 min walking distance from San Pedro downtown. We were lucky to get an upgrade to a private room at the first night which was absolutely nice. The dorm is quite small but comfy. Bathroom is good and hot water is available. The kitchen is big and good. Breakfast is available at an extra cost for people staying in the dorms (private rooms include breakfast). The landlady is very friendly and helpful. Good place to stay in San Pedro!

We really liked our stay at puripica :-). Service with a smile at all times. The tours organized by the hostel were good fun. Location is a 5-10 min from the city, but they pick you up and drop you off at the bus station if required. Definitely recommended.

Yes the hostel is some 15 minute walk from town and that would not bother us but it can be very dusty as per usual in San Pedro de Atacama. We rated the value on the basis of 5 other Chilean hostels (Santiago,Valpo,La Serenna, Elqui Valley, etc) and feel all factors considered we could have done better. We would have had to rate it much lower were we to consider the 50% less we are paying for our present location in Argentina.

Far from city center. The distance doesn't matter but the road condition does. The road is dusty and dark. Wifi usually doesn't work. But the whole city cannot get online sometimes, so it's not the fault of the hostel. The owner can speak some English but he is usually out of office.

We were 4 girls staying in a 4 bed dorm, which was great! Rooms were clean, shower was hot, staff were very friendly and helpful. It is a little difficult to find if you arrive at night but once we were there, it was an easy walk in to town etc. Would stay again

i stayed in a 4 dorm. the staff was extremly helpful and friendly, organised tours . Everything was clean, beds comfortable. The only thing i didnt like was the location as i traveled alone and at night you have to walk abit outside of the center and the lights are poor. They told me San Pedro is save, but still didnt like walking in the dark....

it's a little outside town, but no problem if you follow the directions ;) no wifi, just one computer, no lockers!

Owner Comment (Show)
We have wifi, maybe the days that you were in the hostel did not work well.

A great hostel. It was a fantastic place to stay for a couple of nights before heading off to the salt flats for 3 days. Staff were all really lovely and organised tours each day for us, cleaned our room daily and even did our laundry for a small fee. We were 3 girls travelling together and booked a triple room with an ensuite which ws a nice treat before the salt flats. Would highly recommend this hostel.
