The good: extremely clean. Hats off to the staff for maintaining a spotless place. The bad: extremely noisy. The entire building is hard surfaced, and every sound travels--even from one floor to another. That wouldn't be so bad, but there seems to be no effort to establish any quiet hours. This adds up to making sleep all but impossible.

The tour organized by the Q4 Hotel to the Brooklyn bridge was very agreeable, it was really a good surprise! Q4 Hotel’s staff is very professional and very kind. The acquaintanceship space at basement is an excellent place to make friends from every part of the world. Qeensboro’s neighborhood is noise because the rail, but if you want to be near a subway station you will get this noise anywhere in the world. Just bring your ear tampon. The mattress could be better.

Super nice hostel. Common areas and kitchen are great, and it's very clean. It's close to subway stations, so, super easy to go anywhere.

Excelent Hostel, Location is great since there are four train lines to catch just 50 from the hostel. The common room has an amazing friendly atmosphere. Great experience for my first time in a hostel.

Very good hostel, very helpful specially in New York. As always, everything can be improved, as the shower that does not drain for exemple, but overall, it is a very good experience. Thank you.

Lockers are too small and do not fit standard sized master locks. Showering facilities should be locked and separated from the rooms. This will minimize the possibility of passing germs in moist air.

New York is one of the most expensive places on earth. As such Q4 Hostel which is within a 10 minutes metro-ride from Manhattan provides you with a place to stay within your budget. The rooms are nice, well furnished and clean. But I had a problem with the bathroom. The shower area had a glass door that could not be locked. So that was quite uncomfortable. Further with 40$ per night one would have expected them to serve you with breakfast but that was not the case. But it was nice overall.

The only complaint is that you can only check in after 4. Kind of silly considering most people probably get in in the morning. They hold on to your luggage for free so that's good, but it's still a pain to drop off your luggage, and then go in to manhattan or wherever and then comeback just to check in. It would make sense if check in started in the morning.

Brand new hostel, nice decoration and clean. Nice common area to cook, eat, chill out, drink, etc.. The staff is very helpful and seemed to be well trained. Very close to the subway and middle of Manhattan. Nice showers and toilet in the room. Few inconveniences were the room I stayed in was a bit small for such quantity of persons, the noise due to the trains running all night just in front of the window and the neighbourhood is a bit desolated. Good value for money. Highly recommended!

The kitchen was hopeless! Way too small for the size of the hostel. The dining area should not have a TV/Snooker table anywhere near it...people hang around and block up the space for people who need to eat. (And garden patio furniture, whilst attractive to eat on, is impossible to clean properly and therefore a major health hazard!) This was a good place to stay.....extremely noisy from the trains (although you do get used to it!)but lovely room, comfortable bed/bedding.

Pros: Very close to subway, beds ok, big bathroom. good internet connection even in rooms. Staff helpful. Cons: close to a (a bit) noisy road. Tiny rooms (apart from showers). Lockers are small and cheap (only small locks fit). No elevator. Common area in basement. I didn't feel encouraged to go there an meet people (in other hostels this happens in breakfasts or in organised activities). Overall it's a nice hostel, I'd stay again but for a few more $ I found a better one for my return trip

It was my third stay at the Q4 Hostel and I think that already says everything. I obivously like it. It is cheap in comparison to other Hostels in NYC and you are in Manhatten within 15 minutes. Definitley reccomend this Hostel. (The only thing that was slightly annoying, was that in the 6 Beds Dorm I stayed have been just 6 Outlets, all of which have been behind the lower beds... But well, we could manage that too :))

Very clean and comfortable rooms which were nicely decorated. Felt more like a hotel than a hostel (hence the name) Fantastic location near two subway stations. However quite noisy at night (maybe that's true of Everywhere in NY) and some staff weren't very helpful. Overall a good hostel at a good price

Very good hostel for a long weekend in NYC. Don't be worried about the off-Manhattan location as there's two subway stations within 5 minutes and it's very easy to commute where ever you choose to head to weather it's Manhattan, Brooklyn or Queens. Downside of the location is the noise from the trains but even as a light sleeper, got used to it quickly. Best hostel I've stayed in the US though bad side of the room was that not enough power sockets and no little reading lights.

It was a perfect hostel. Even though the area is not that touristic, it's not a problema because there is 2 subway station nearby, so you can just go anywhere. The common area is pretty nice and there is a deli nearby where you can buy some beers as well. I enjoyed a lot, and definitely recommend.

This was a great hostel. Very clean with friendly staff, as well as a great kitchen and lounge area below. The bathroom was really large which was awesome. I would definitely go back here.
