The hostel was under rennovations and the fumes from the paints and lacquers the workers were using were nauseating. If we had known this, we would have booked elsewhere becaus it was very noxious. Plus the cafe' was closed and there were few services. Some of the staff couldn't speak or understand english which made getting directions to sites a bit troublesome. The AC unit condensate leaked into the room the first but the owner/manager fixed it the next day.
The hostel was under construction during my stay, so the smell of poisinous paint and knocking woke me up every morning. The hostels looked like a cosy place when not under construction though. Location is perfect. No lockers in the room.
I would not recommend this hostel to anyone. The staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful - we arrived just 2 hours later than expected and they had already given our beds away! They were not at all apologetic or courteous. We stayed for 5 nights, and unfortunately they were rebuilding around this time. The work started super early, 7am even on a Sunday, and it was really dangerous to walk underneath welding metal. The only good thing about this hostel is its location! The atmosphere is bad.
Location of the hostel is excellent, a short distance from the Qian Men metro station and plenty of food outlets nearby. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again whenever I visit Beijing again.
