Great youth hostel. The place is really good near the Drum Tower or the inner center and really easy to pick a bus to go to the train station or the Great Pagoda. And something really good is that the hostel gives us a great and easy way to find them when arriving in Xi'an. And prices in the restaurant are at a good level. Meals and breakfasts are delicious. So cool to find some Western food ! The only bad point is no window and no Wifi in 4-dorm because you aren't at the same floor than others.

Despite many people saying that this hostel is in poor condition (which I suppose it kind of is), I enjoyed it. If you're wanting a more quiet atmosphere this is a good hostel for sure. The staff seemed kind of unhelpful when we first got there and things wee confusing, but they were incredibly nice over all. A nice perk is that this hostel is cheaper than others, but still close to the more ''party oriented" hostels around the corner. Sleep here, go party at the others :)

Absolutely amazing character, but loud at times (sound really carries through the building). Staff at reception was a bit awful - made repeated mistakes with my reservation, and tried to make me pay for an extra night. The location was very central, but busy and touristy. I'll try somewhere else next time.

I stayed here for 10 days and had a great time. The staff are helpful and the location is excellent, my only real gripe is that the showers are in a mighty cold room, but no shortage of hot water.

I book a twin room with ensuite. It was satisfactory for our weekend trip, good location on the Main Street. The heater was great but the room was not sealed, so it was not as functional as it could have been. The bathroom features a glass wall, slightly awkward for travelling with friends, but manageable. A solid wall for the bathroom would be lovely.

The hostel is old and rundown. This does not mean it has character, it means it's being kept in poor condition. The rooms are bare, with no TV or wifi signal. The staff is fine, I have no complaints there; the food was decent as well. But don't be fooled by their restaurant/bar claim... it literally consists of two small tables inside, and one outside. Overall, I give this hostel 2/5 stars, its only saving grace being its staff and its AMAZING location.

Great location! Short walk from the subway. also less than a 45 minute train ride from the airport. Walking distance to The Forbidden City and other must see sites. We stayed the first week of April and the weather and room were a bit cold but not too bad, might be worse in winter. You have to walk across the open courtyard to use the restroom, it's a cold walk but not a deal breaker. They sell cheap beers and have a nice hangout area inside and outside. Great value for the money!

I have the feeling that the place could be improved without investing too much money, but rather honest effort. Our room was terrible, without ventilation, small and humed. The bathroom was even worse with several leaks and damps. If I had known the condition of the hostel beforehand I definitely would not have booked there. I'm sorry Qian Men, you did not make me feel welcome at all.

Location was very good, 5 min's walk from the Tiananmen Square and just around the corner from some cozy hutongs. Room and cleanliness were dissapointing however. Toilet was disgusting, a lot of mold in the shower and so on.

The hostel is at central location, near Tiamen square and the forbidden city. I took a double bed room with private bathroom- reasonably comfortable except the bathroom was only separate by glass, which made using the toilet while someone else is in the room a bit disconcerting...other than that, happy with the stay

bit grubby everywhere, showers frightening, staff generally helpful although I often felt like they were irritated to be disturbed. Generally a good place to stay and we would again, just could do with a bit of a clean and tidy up.

This place has got a unique feeling of old Beijing and its location is excellent, just a few minutes walk to the most known landmarks. Great value. A bit cold inside when the temperatures are negative.

The atmosphere was wonderful, although it was a little too cold to enjoy the courtyard...the location of this hostel is great a 10 minutes walk and you enter the forbidden city and near to the small streets of the hutongs–I enjoyed my time there!
