Great location close to Tiananmen Square and subway. There was plenty of places to eat nearby. I liked the architecture of the building inside and out. There were wifi access points in the lobby, bar, and also near the rooms. Our room had an ensuite bathroom which was great. A little moldy inside, but on par with what we saw in other hostels in China.

Friendly staff and excellent location - the main reasons to choose Qien Men hostel, I think..

Booked three night but stayed just one. Premise: this is my fourth time in China and just in Beijing I have had the pleasure (sometimes not..) to sleep in more than seven to eight hostels, so I'm not a novice about old Beijing residences, but this is too much! Loudly people stayed just outside of our room talking loudly, singing beyond 2AM and the staff really did nothing to stop them. Room pretty cold and with no space to store our luggage. They gave me back money just for one night staying.

it has a very good location (2 minutes from tiananmen square and from the subway), nice staff and a bar. However, there is a big con: in the private rooms the toilets and shower are separated from the room by a see-through glass only, something that is very uncomfortable whether your travelling with a friend or a spouse. plus, the shower wasn't very clean.

I enjoyed my stay here. The beds were comfortable. The wifi worked sporadically in other areas outside of reception. The common areas inside and outside were great for meeting other travelers. The location is great, not far from the subway, and bus stops. Almost all the staff were friendly and helpful.

We stayed in a double bed private room and the room looked nothing like the photos.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Food and booze on spot and very pleasant. Rip-off bus tour to Great Wall of China was awesome. Escort service would be desirable. Also, bigger English breakfasts would be way bigger. Also, sandwiches should be there for breakfast as well.

The hostel was a cozy little hutong full of charm and our stay at Qian Men become just as important to our vacation as the rest of Beijing. The staff do what they can to help you get around, the food (though a little pricy for what you can find in Beijing) was delicious, and the people we met were incredible. I could easily see myself going back there if given the opportunity.

Close to Tianamen Square, the Fobidden City and Qian Men subway station. Two stops from main train station. Free internet. Great breakfast (paying). For the rest, I was impressed by the Manager's kindness toward me. I highly recommend this place.

This is a wonderful hostel, especially by Beijing standards, and is certainly the best in the area: for me, it is as good a hostel as I have found anywhere in Europe or China, and cannot be recommended highly enough...The staff are obliging decent people with precisely the sort of tolerance and circumspection necessary--especially in China--to deal with the immense range of bumbling fools, foreign and domestic, who stumble boisterously, arrogantly, preposterously their way...Thank you...
