I had such a great stay at this hostel, that I decided to return. It was cheap, and the staff were incredibly friendly. I felt like I was in a university dorm again, with all the decor, and pop culture on the walls. I would stay here again, and would recommend this hostel to anyone staying in Qingdao.

The manager was nice but the staff was rather cold and the atmosphere was not that friendly. Great location and facilities are ok. But there was the rather annoying sound of water rushing through pipes that were routed inconveniently through our room. Also the rooms had a strange musty smell to them. Finally, the food was very poor, don't order the fish and chips!

i regret the small room for guest people and the price of the food. 45 yuans for a small sandwich, very expensive

The location is not bad cause it's close to the sea, even though it's built on the mountain. But there's a serious problem that the sewer is very smelly. I lived in the ensuite and hardly fell asleep on the first day. Besides there's no exhaust fan in the bathroom. I hope they can do some improvement.

Bit confusing to find but that was due to hostelworld writing the address solely in incorrect pinyin. Otherwise, very nice hostel, situated at the top of a park off the beaten track so nice and quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they regularly organise a seafood market tour which was great. Would definitely go and stay there again.

You had to find the right staff to talk to but I think he was the owner, and he was great for information and to talk to. All you could drink Tsingtao for 20 Yuan on the Friday night was great. Best value hostel I stayed at in China. There was a great street market down the road too, which was really good for breakfast and dinner.

Not as far out of the way as Lonely Planet makes it sound. It was a bit quiet and empty when I was there, that may just be the season though.

The location is great! The staff is really nice and helpful. We had a private room with bath. This needs a bit more construction and cleaning. Even when it was just renovated. There are still holes in the wall and the bathroom floor is mold-infested. But still I would recommended as a really good hostel especially in China!

My wife and I were staying here for her birthday. The staff at the hostel was amazing! They helped me organize pre-arrival flowers and they laid out rose pedal on our bed i the shape of a heart. It was so special. When we arrived she was so surprised and felt so special. Thank you staff!!! You helped me make her birthday amazing!!!

We had a great time. We ended each night in the bar downstairs and made great friends with the bartender. We met people from all over the world and they even had free dinner on the weekends with free-flow Tsingtao for 20RMB. Great time! They give you a map with all the tourist attractions on it, so we used that to walk around. It\'s right by the highway and pretty close to the coast. Can\'t go wrong with it!

My friends and I stayed two nights and had a great time at the hostel. The staff was really nice (whenever you need sth. tell them) and the character of the hostel is great. Due to the time of the year the rooftop was closed but the staff show us around and it was a great location. The room was fair enough for a weekend stay and just as you expect it to be staying in a hostel. They even have a driver who can take you around! All in all we had lots of fun and highly recommend the old observatory.

Really enjoyed our stay here. It was absolutely freezing when we went (perhaps minus 5 degrees!), but the room was, if anything, too hot! Was nice to see considering how cold many places in China are. Had a good bar, and friendly staff, but it was pretty hard to find. Once we did, it was quite a walk!

It would be an even better experience if the following can be improved the telephone of 305 did not work The small window in the restroom cannot be shut tightly The wifi signal in the room is too weak to surf

The hostel is very hard to find... indications given by the hostel are not accurate enough for a cab driver... one of the street (guanxiang er lu) is most of the time being confused with the street guanxiang yi lu... which is not the same at all... The room was stinky, which is very disappointing, smell of toilet and sewage. The heating system is ok slow (it is not aircon). Except for 1 person, the other people do not speak proper english. The rooftop terrace was closed. All the rest was fine.
