very noisy at night time (outside), even if your windows are closed!

Excellent location. Kept very clean. Friendly owners. Despite it's location there is no noise from the street so you can get a good nights sleep.

Amazing location! The staff is great but it was different "sharing" the house with the family was a little weird. Overall the place was great, i went back 2 more times so definitely would recommend it.

It's a bit small place but the staffs are so nice that they are willing to help you a lot of things, such as printing your boarding pass, greeting you with a big smile, and so on. Also, the location is perfect! It's at the very center of Madrid, but not noisy at all!!

I like everything but i would suggest that they also put signage outside for the people easily to find their hostel like their neighbor hostel which is "HOSTAL DON ALFONSO" located at in the same building, they have signage in front and at the side.

Got my room upgraded because i am a repeated customer and i book the minimum night(2 nights for new year eve) even though i just stayed for one night, very close to puerta del sol, you can do the count down for new year and went back upstairs to sleep. staff is very helpful and you feel like at home. warm water at shower. better bring bed sheet so that you can cover the blanket they provide as the blankets do not have cover. if you like to experience Spanish culture, it is a good hostel to stay.

During winter time, it is recommened to book this hostel because the shower is fantastic, the water at the shower is always warm and with flexible shower head. Bathroom and floor is clean. Sometimes it might have noises out on the street but at times it is quiet, i guess depend on the dates of your stay, but most of time, the street will be quiet after 12:00. if you want a quiet room, they have a four bed dorm for you, this dorm is quiet 24 hours a day.

Upon arrival, the owner of the hostel noticed that it is my B-day soon, and so he gave me a small gift on my B-day, this gesture made the trip and stay more personal. The staff and everyone was friendly and hostel is clean, everyday after 11:00, they will clean the room you stay in. it is nice that there is a reading light in each bed so that you do not need to worry about disturbing others by turning on the central light in the room. heater in the room will be in function upon request.

Too loud at night; not possible to shut window/door to balcony completely.

My version of a great hostel is a hostel that is authentic. A great hostel to me is a place where you really get a feeling of the culture of the country you are staying in. This hostel was unbelievably authentic, and felt like a real Spanish home. The owners are a real family and have been running the hostel through 2 generations. They were great to us, despite the fact they didn't speak any English. Old place but I prefer that over some modernized boring hostel. Loved it!

There is no common room what so ever, the kitchen is also very small. The worst thing was the beds that made so much noise that hardly anyone was able to sleep in our room. However, the location is perfect, you can get anywhere by foot and also the closest metro station is like a minute away. The staff was also lovely!

The only negative point is the kitchen. It's so small for all people in the hostel. During the morning, the breakfast is good, but there isn't enough place for everybody.

I got stolen belongings including cash by a roommate even though those were in a locker.

This place is adorable. It can be tough communicating because it is a family run business and they mostly speak Spanish but they are kind and caring and that's all you need. They have full kitchen services, just need to ask for the electric stove top. The rooms are spacious but not huge. Bathroom in the room but I had great bunk mates so everyone was respectful of bathroom time. The location is impeccable!!!!! Seriously, stay here! Such an adorae place and supporting great people! Breakfast too!

Super location and clean with good facilities. As it is an apartment building space is a little restricted so is a bit cramped.
