The owner of hostel is a very nice man and I'd love to write a good review for him, however hostel is good only for India's standards. And I don't like to lower my standards just because it's India, after all the price is high. So here we go: sheets were dirty, rooms need better maintenance, no hot water, frequent power cut-outs. AC room was good, non-AC room - forget about it, just take AC room. Good things: owner was very helpful, staff polite (not very competent however), free wi-fi on roof.

Love our stay at Rahul Guesthouse. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and nice, spring for the AC if you can as if gets a little hot if you just have fan. The kitchen and food upstairs is excellent with an awesome menu. One of the only places that have given us a proper map when we check in! Loved it and would highly recommend to future travellers.

Great location-- quiet yet still close to the fun! Nice rooftop spot with view of river. Food unremarkable, but decent by Varanasi standards (no one is coming here for the food!). Only dinged on the cleanliness because our towels weren't replaced and we didn't have a top sheet on the bed (although it was hot enough it wasn't missed!). Excellent value for money, would highly recommend for travellers

Lovely place with great staff! The room was clean and had a working hot shower. we thought the location was great, its a nice walk up the river. The hotel offered morning and evening boat trips as well as plenty of advise on the area. The roof top resturant had great food and was a nice place to meet new people.

We were lucky enough for a free room upgrade as the hotel accidently double booked. The room we stayed in was spotlessly clean, very spacious and quite luxurious for India. The food was nice but we did have to wait along time for it. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The hotel is just outside the busy ghats which was perfect for us. We booked the Ganges boat trip with the hotel which we really enjoyed. Would definitely recommend this hotel for a visit to Varanasi.

The Hostel is a little bit outside but thats OK because it is a little bit more quit. There are rooms which have a problem with mould. We finally got a room that was OK and clean. The more expensive rooms are not better. We could not sit outside on

The guest house was home away from home for us. The staff were a very dedicated team and offered personalized services. They fixed up boat ride, visiting the temples and arranged for Allahabad trip with a nominal rate and whoever they recommended gave very good services. Of course, the location is a little far way from the city but the Ganges view from the rooms in the second floor was amazing. The food was very very delicious and the courteousness and the hospitality is commendable.

The guest house is in a fantastic location with great views of the Ganges river. The rooms are clean and functional.. There is a restauarant on the terrace , and the staff are professional and friendly, helping to organise trips, and transfers to make your journey easy. Good value for money -thoroughly recommended. In a residential area so very interesting to see that.

If directions to guest house can be indicated from the main road, it will be more convenient.

Near Gangers, but the exactly location is difficult to find. Helpful staff, when we found the light didn't work, they can replace it immediately.

Staff were all brilliant, room was great, comfortable bed hot shower, room very clean. Food satisfactory but service extremely slow. Nice view from rooftop restaurant. Family run, all excellent with local info making sure you didnt get ripped of. Boat trip nice but too long on the return journey, slightly away from main area but only 30min easy walk, take a torch somd dark areas but felt very safe. Much quieter at night nice after the madness.

The Rahul Guest House was very nice. The rooms were clean and comfortable (stayed in the Super Deluxe) although the windows were small, so not much of a view. The hosts couldn't have been nicer or more helpful - really great. It's a ways from the main ghat so if you don't want to have to walk or take a rickshaw, you should probably find a place closer to the main action. But it was nice and quiet (relatively speaking - it is India after all) and the food at the restaurant was quite good.

We had a wonderful stay at Rahul's Guest House.Mr. Rahul is friendly and so helpful! Rahul sent a taxi to the airport to pick us up. The guesthouse is quiet and a bit out of the smelly part of Varanasi. Wi had a great boat trip on Ganges at 06, and really got memories for life. The chai in the roof restaurant is the best one I ever had!!

This place is nice and quiet, a good refuge from the bustle of Varanasi but still with a great rooftop restaurant overlooking the Ganges. The staff were exceptionally helpful, someone was able to meet us at the train station and they were also able to recommend some very good tuk-tuk drivers/guides who were both friendly, insightful and didn't try to rip us off. Nice clean rooms, very happy here.
