The beds felt like they were going to fall apart whenever anyone moved, the bathroom (which was dirty even by Chinese standards) ran out of hot water often. Justin, who ran the hostel was very helpful, but every other staff member I dealt with was uninformed and did not help me.

Nice little hostel. Staff were friendly, breakfast was lovely and the shower was hot! Only squat toilets though.

There was a bit of a "staff-first" culture for my liking. I found them looking after themselves before looking after guests and often-times there was nowhere to sit in the main common area because staff were taking up all the space. It's a squat-toilet only hostel, if that bothers you, and the beds aren't the most comfortable or secure. Any beach is a long walk or a short bus ride away which was a bit of a pain. I've stayed in worse. They need a lesson in customer service though.

The most friendly and helpful people and hostel I've ever met, yet not too western, excellent job! Thank you a million times again for the surfing trip!

It was a great stay (actually 2 stays, 3 nights at Raintree hostel). The hostel is greatly located, between Dadonghai and Sanyawan. Nightlife is just around the corner. The staff is great, and friendly! The internet is a bit slow, but that wasn't the only time in China it was like that. I will come back next year for sure!
