Directions to Raise a Smile Hostel Berlin

Please note the street we are on called Weidenweg is in the area of Friedrichshain � There is more than one street called Weidenweg in Berlin, but only one in Friedrichshain! Our post code is 10249. Once you've booked here on Hostelworld, we strongly recommend you have a look at the video on our website, otherwise you mightn't be able to find us!


From Hauptbahnhof or Ostbahnhof (The main train stations):

Berlin is a huge city, so to get to the hostel you will need an AB public transport ticket, the ticket can be used on the S-bahn, U-bahn, trams and busses. AB tickets cost �2.30 for a single or �6.30 for a day ticket (which expires at 3AM). You can buy the ticket from the touch screen machines on the platform. Don't forget to validate your ticket (stamp it in the little box next to the ticket machine!).

Catch any of the S-Bahn trains going in an Easterly direction (that means any S-Bahn going to Wartenburg, Ahrensfelde, Strausberg Nord, Erkner). If you can�t find the platform for S-Bahn trains follow the signs with a big white �S� in a green circle, in Hauptbahnhof they are on the very top floor.

Get off the S-Bahn at Warschauer Straβe (also sometimes written as Warschauer Str.). When leaving Warschauer Straβe S-Bahn station (there is only one exit so you can't get lost!) you will see a tram track in front of you, turn right and follow the track for about 50m to the next tram stop. Catch the M10 tram to Bersarinplatz, the tram to Bersarinplatz goes in the same direction as you walked from Warschauer Straβe. Get off the M10 at Bersarinplatz and walk along the platform in the opposite direction to the tram. At the end of the platform turn right and cross both tram tracks and the main road. When you reach the other side of the road turn right. You should walk past a Bike shop called �Second Bike� on your left, and then about 20m further is a bar called �Degendorff�. Just after Degendorff turn left and walk down the passageway between Degendorff and the building next to it. There is a fluorescent green/yellow sign above the passageway with Weidenweg 51 written on it. When you come out of the passageway into the courtyard turn left. Keep walking straight and you will see a big green and white sign for 'Berfin D�ner' directly infront of you. To the right of this sign is a bike rack and the hostel entrance is behind that bike rack. Our door is number 51, look for Raise a Smile on the buzzer (it's the 3rd one from the top on the right hand side).

From Berlin Sch�nefeld Airport:

To get to the hostel from Sch�nefeld Airport you will need an ABC public transport ticket, the ticket can be used on the S-bahn, U-bahn, trams and busses. ABC tickets cost �3.00 for a single or �6.80 for a day ticket (which expires at 3AM). You can buy the ticket from the touch screen machines next to the stairs that lead up to the platform. Don't forget to validate your ticket before you get on the S-Bahn train (stamp it in the little box on the platform!).

Catch the S9 S-Bahn train to Ostkreuz, Sch�nefeld Airport is the last station on the line so it's impossible to get on an S9 going in the wrong direction! At Ostkreuz get off the train and catch any of the S-Bahn trains going in a Westerly direction (that means any S-Bahn going to Potsdam Hbf, Spandau Bhf, Westkreuz or Ostbahnhof).

To get to the hostel from Tegel Airport you will need an AB public transport ticket, the ticket can be used on the S-bahn, U-bahn, trams and busses. AB tickets cost �2.30 for a single or �6.30 for a day ticket (which expires at 3AM). You can buy the ticket from the touch screen machines at the bus stop. Don't forget to validate your ticket!

Catch the TXL Bus from the airport to Berlin Hauptbahnhof (main train station). Go inside the train station to the very top where the S-Bahn trains are - follow the signs with a big white �S� in a green circle. Don�t forget to validate your ticket (stamp it in the little box next to the ticket machine!).

First go to the 'Messe Nord ICC' S-Bahn station. It is very close to ZOB. Next take the S-bahn 1 stop to Westkreuz. When you arrive into Westkreuz get off the train and go down one floor to catch any of the S-Bahn trains going in an Easterly direction (that means any S-Bahn going to Wartenburg, Ahrensfelde, Strausberg Nord, Erkner).
