Lovely hostel, so are the guys who run it! This is actually an apartment in a large building, it has a really casual and cosy atmosphere and the location is just great.

I simply loved this hostel. Yes, as a hostel it is a good one on average - clean, safe, good location... But the purpose and the staff makes all diference. The project for Africa is beautiful! They also organize some groups to go dinner together in good restaurants with also good prices. The staff is SO friendly!!! And I think that's attracts people in the same sintony... It is not a party hostel... it is like being among friends.

A small, intimate and very laid back hostel. To enter our double room one had to pass through a dorm, what I didn't realize when booking. The room was just big enough to fit the double bed and started to feel stuffy pretty quickly during the night. Location really nice, close to the very cozy Friedrichshain area. Thanks to the amazingly helpful and friendly staff!

Good, clean hostel with a great staff. Located a little far away from sites but that is easily solved by tramming and ubahn/sbahn with the Berlin AB ticket. Great mission supporting the children in Africa too!

I really enjoyed my stay! Lots of nice people, a great kitchen to use, and I appreciated being able to exchange my book. Love the idea behind the hostel too. Make sure you have the instructions on how to get there handy when you arrive though, as it is not easy to find. Recommended!

A really top hostel. Small but not too crowded. Nice interesting area and friendly helpful staff. If I went back to Berlin I'd go back there for sure.

Great place, I really hope they continue on or at the very least sell it to someone or lease it out for someone to run. It's a successfully business that deserves all it's praise and it would be a shame for it to shutdown so that they can focus on their charity. God I'd buy it because it's just such a well run place and enjoyable to stay. Thank you

The people that work in this hostel are phenomenal. Any question you have, they're there. Any concern you have, they're there. Need a smile, they're there. Need help finding an apartment in Berlin, they're there. These folks aren't running a hostel for the money, that's for sure! If anything, you have to stop by and meet the amazing volunteers and staff. Simply put, they're really good people. The place is clean, comfy, and not a "typical" hostel. A big warm thank you to Raise a Smile.

I had a great stay here! I was travelling alone and this hostel made it really easy to meet people. The hostel organized lots of group activities, and they were all really fun and not super touristy or anything which was nice.

Amazing hostel with amazing people! First thing they do is welcome you, with a map, and show you everything you need to see and do in Berlim, with all the patience in the world . Since the hostel is not too big, people stay in common areas like the kitchen and the chilling out room. The biggest difference, I think, Is that the hostel people are always near the travelers. Not no mention their work with the children. Awsome stay, Ill be back in the future!

The hostel was brilliant and staff very helpful and friendly. Made it really easy to make friends and there was always something going, whether it be a meal or trip to the ping pong bar! Also really adds something that I will also be helping out underprivileged children at the same time. Will definitely return should I come back to Berlin (which I will)!

For Japanese:) とてもアットホームなホステルです。スタッフは優しいし、ゲストもフレンドリーです。 1時までにチェックインを、とありますが先に伝えておけば融通が効くみたい。

We do love the charity "Raise a smile" ! So, staying at a very clean, small, friendly , open-minded hostel , in one of the best AREAS in Berlin having fun - enjoying traveling, you do good , you are helping underprivileged children at the same time!! This was certainly a new experience we have made! And we traveled a lot so far!

Amazing hostel. Small friendly atmosphere, with organised stuff to do everynight. Shows you the real Berlin, and it is quite honestly hard not to have a good time there. Probably the nicest hostel ive been to...
