Great great location. Staff was helpful, rowdy guests like any hostel. Bathrooms are private which is nice but the cleanliness of rooms and bathroom leave something to be desired. I arrived and the room had been overbooked so I was upgraded at no extra charge. I had a whole room to myself pretty much the whole weekend. Very pleased with that so no major complaints! Besides if you come to barcelone; its to party and stay out all night. You should be sleeping anyway. Cannot beat 8 euro a night !

You only pay for location, the rest its pretty bad. Security is practically non existent, character, etc.

As far as I can see from the reviews the hot water in the second floor has been out for couple months. Bout time to get that fixed?

Just spent two nights at this hostel last week and I can assure you I will NOT recommend this place to all any one.The place was extremely filthy, the rooms smelled of urine, the bed was dirty, the bathroom had no hot water, when asked about hot water it was suggested to go to the third floor. The bathroom on 3rd floor had open condoms lying on the floor with filthy towels lying all over, at least there was hot water to take a shower plus there were fights going on all night.

Firstly, the hostel’s name seems to be “residencia windsor” instead of “rambla y catalunya”. It has really uncomfortable beds with dirty sheets, reception is on the second floor and no indications for it. More importantly, bathrooms on the floor lack even the toilet paper (so be sure to bring it yourself!). Really difficult to have breakfast since there are not enough glasses or cups. Finally, the location is central and close to la rambla, but it appears to be not so relevant as with the underg

I would not recommend this hostel to anyone. From the first sight of my room, my bed, it was the worst of all my hostel experiences. But i had no choice, my friends booked it but they didn't show up later. Thus added up to my disappointment. No safety guarantee, no eatable breakfast, no comfortable shower, you have to wander in the city all day long to avoid stay at this place, really feel sad.

The hostel was not so nice :(, uncomfortable beds, not so clean bathroom and room also, the windows in the room were leaky and there was so windy and this way very noisy for the street.

This hostel is called Windsor Hostel NOT Rambla & Catalunya Hostel. Reception is on the second floor, no signs to tell you this though. We booked a 12 bed mixed dorm, what we got was a 20 bed mixed dorm. No discount for this. Wifi is meant to be free, it didn't work + when we went down a level to ask about it the guy was completely unhelpful. Breakfast doesn't always start at 8am, the toaster was broken, there was cereal + milk but no bowls + juice but no cups. It is cheap for a REASON!!!!

don't EVER leave you stuff like passport, money,... in the room while your not!!!! people seem to come into your room an look through your stuff even if the door is locked. you should bring yourself a locker to lock things up in some floor upstairs.

The hostel is centrally located at the lively heart of Barcelona. Rooms are simple, but sufficient and the staff is very friendly.

I went to the hostel with trepidation after reading some of the reports that had been posted. I stayed in room 112 it was clean, the bed a little soft for my personal taste, the location was superb and the staff very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. I am a sixty year old traveller who has travelled extensively in south east asia, india pakistan, the whole of europe and south america. The value was excellent and I would stay there again. The hostel is quite dirty, no hot water in the showers at 2nd floor and apparently now it changed its name to Windsor Hostel.
