Would definitely stay here again but think others should know that often there isn't a physical person at desk. You have to ring a local number and then they'll come down to desk. Not a major but we needed our $20 key deposit back at 7am and noone was at the desk, turns out they are around, it's kind of like paging them.

Definitely CALL this hostel to make a booking, don\'t do it online. Or if you do it online, call and confirm. Apparently the owner receives all of the online bookings and frequently doesn\'t tell the staff when people make reservations. I was traveling with 3 other girls and when we arrived the staff was flustered because they had no idea we had made reservations. Luckily there was a single room available so myself and 1 girl shared a bed, 1 girl ended up on a cot, and the last girl ended up in a bunk in

The rooms were clean as were the community areas with the exception of the kitchen. The kitchen was absolutely filthy most times. The refrigerator was not clean and the sponges for cleaning the dishes were dirtier than the dishes. Not quite up to par.

Management poor. We received an email 3 days before arrival telling us that Ramsay Lodge 'no longer had room for us'. On arrival the bed linen had not been touched since the last guests had been there. The bathroom was unusable with the shower drain virtually blocked by hair. Sleep was impossible due to noise level which continued until 2am and then started again at 5.30am.

I didn't actually stay at this hostel because they did not receive my online booking, even though I booked a month in advance. I was very disappointed that they hadn't checked their emails and didn't log my booking, as I was relying on them to provide accommodation for myself and my fiance. I thought it very rude of them to book in last minute walk up backpackers at the expense of an organised person like myself who had given them plenty of advance warning. Please make them check their emails!
