We booked a twin room with shared bathroom for $45 US per person. When we arrived, they did not have our booking. I don't know if there was a twin ro om, but we got a 2 bunkbed dorm. We were handed sheets to make our own beds. The floor in our room was not clean nor was the bathroom clean. The kitchen had smells. There is no AC here nor is breakfast included for $45.00. Further, you can't see the bottom of the swimming pool as the water is so discolored. We wouldn't stay here again.

We went to the hostel based on the very good recommendations on Hostelworld... and I have to say we were dissapointed. Basically, what happened was after the high season, the owner left the hostel to a family member. She was very very kind but didn't know much. Wifi code? Bus into the centre??? Were to rent a surfboard - at the beach (no way!) Nearest beach? On the plus side, the place is clean and safe. PS The pool is great is great for the local swamp biodiversity but not for swimming!

Its a nice hostel which is close to beach and bus station and an awesome vegetarian restaurant Krishna. Staff is excellent and it was worth staying at this hostel.

We booked a quadruple room with private bathroom but arriving at the hostel, we saw that we would share a bathroom with another room with six people. Although the room is tiny, mattresses and bedding were very new, clean and in great condition. The conditions were awful and the doors, both the bathroom and the room had no key. We left the hostel early and everything was open and no one caring, which is bad for safety.

What a wicked place! Loads of fun, super friendly staff, great location. I had such a good time staying here I didnt want to leave at all. Thanks for the great times and the excellent hospitality. Hands down one of my favorite hostels I've stayed at in South America.

I would definitely go back to Rancho Azul. The place is really close to many bus stops and also from the coolest part of La Barra - not to mention the great Montoya Beach. The bedrooms were super comfy, and the beds were really good! Also, they have a great outdoor space with an irresistible swimming pool and a bar. The staff was super nice and we felt very safe! :)
