The people of Long Bay are one of our best assets. Everyone goes by a first name basis and treat you like familly. A mixed race community with lots of tourist who simply forgot to go back home. Sweet Reggae music is always on the air and there is never a bad day for a party

Our hosts, Anesta and Big Al, made sure we were invited to whatever was going on that evening. Villa Rasta is right across the street from a public beach and within taxi distance of several other beaches (Frenchman's Cove, San San, Winifred). Big Al's cooking is delicious and Anesta is a gracious hostess. The Port Antonio area is outside of the touristy hubbub of the cruise ships and big resorts, and I recommend the area and Villa Rasta for anyone who wants to see the "real Jamaica."
