Stayed in a double private room which was like a shoe box. Had been put together using sheets of ply wood. Was very dark and noisy. Shared bathroom upstairs not very clean. Never any staff to hand.

SURPRISINGLY JOYFUL PLACE!! Way better than staying in a boring-lack-of-personality hotel, and way better than staying in some noisy-4th-floor-claustrophobic-drunk-kindergarden "fancy-wannabe" downtown hostel, as bedrooms are huge and sunny, quiet at nightand with good mattresses, good kitchen, fast wifi etc, PLUS an enjoyable sunny inner patio, a great pub with yammy meals PLUS good location PLUS the most friendly staff!!

All in all, a definitive winner, not only for its price rank but also for more expensive alternatives as apartments etc > At Rastel you feel at home or in community at will, you get great support and advices by the staff towards sightseings and nightlife, you can share coffee, drinks and good food in a garden, in a ruin pub or in the common room, or be anywhere in the city in some 10 minutes, as every possible public transport is available in a 200m radio. I'll definitely come back.

Great staff, always friendly, man who run the place Martin is very helpful for giving recommendations for things to do in BP, place was generally clean and well-kept. Only 5 minutes walking to the public transportation or 10 min to city centre.Great relaxing pub downstairs (the pub is not working up to 1pm- great time for relaxing in nice and quiet garden). For smokers - garden is covered so no smoking inside. Girls say missing the bathroom mirror. Value for money is excellent. Thank you

The environment was very good, spacious and storage was good indeed. The sleeping area was superb, however, the shower room/ was toilet may need some improvements as it remained damp after showers. Perhaps a provision of a mop and a bucket would solve the problem. Staff were pleasant and polite and demonstrated great professionalism. For instance, although we had paid a nominal deposit, they did not rush to ask for the balance which was unique but welcoming. Another stay is innevitable!!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: great staff and atmosphere, big clean cozy rooms, any facility you may need PLUS a great pub with a fantastic patio downstairs where you can hang out 24h without disturbing anybody; the location is far better than being downtown -sirens by day and noisy holligans by night-, and you just have to walk 100m. to get any public transport. I'll definitely come back!

BEST HOSTEL IN TOWN!! -You have there everything you need to be at your ease AND MUCH MORE: a fantastic patio lo lounge anytime and a great pub just in the annexe building -the noise doesn't reach at all the rooms, so you can choose to have fun or sleep in perfect silence.

Beats every other hostel by far; forget about those other crappy one-floor downtown ones with no space to be at your ease and 24h racket from the street AND the drunk hooligans on the next room! Rastel is something else: the neighborhood is quiet and so are the bedrooms, and it is YOUR choice to party, taking the public 24h tram, or even just downstairs in its lovely ruin pub.
