We are Manila's best-kept backpacker secret, an alternative hostel on a mission to help change the way the world experiences Manila. Running since 2009, we are located in what the Mayor himself described to our guests as the 'heart of real Manila,' away from the Malate red-light district. If you're into authentic travel and some hardcore fun, this is it.

Looking for a place to rest after a long and arduous walk in the heat of Manila? Red Carabao is your place. Opened in July 2009, Manila's newest, modern, alternative hostel is located in a clean, safe & peaceful neighborhood in Makati. Away from the 'sensuous' red light district, but within easy reach of everything Manila has to offer.

In addition to squeaky-clean bathrooms, fresh linens, free internet, a modern kitchen, and eco standards, Red Carabao is above all, every guest's home away from home.

So if your goal isn't to explore shady bars, we're your honest-to-goodness best choice. Red Carabao was founded to provide an alternative accommodation for international backpackers who wish to witness and engage real, authentic culture, and have real fun while at it. Or looking to meet like-minded folks. It is never our aim to cater to everyone's motives for travel. Makati is also the expat hang-out spot, not crime-ridden, overpriced Malate. We are no more than 20 minutes from the airport.
