Although we booked over 4 months in advance and arrived after 8pm at night, both times we stayed here our room wasn't ready for us.After a long days travel this was really disappointing.Particuarly the first time when the toilet was dirty after the previous occupant had food posioning.Lack of a lift is a struggle up to the 5th floor with bags.I wish information about the local area and sights was more accessible, you had to ask Aldrich for each piece of information. Great security. Close to LRT.

I arrived with a huge party on the rooftop and met some funny people. Single private was cool, tidy and cheap. When I returned a 2nd time at end of my tip, the staff biked around town for me in search of a laundromat I thought disappeared from earth. LRT goes to airport for cheap. Safe area for female solo traveller. If you plan to arrive without plans, they will help you plan everything and connect with hostels. I will be back once they have the gaming floor, bikes, airport shuttle, pubcrawl.

The location is near the chinese cemetary, with a lot of slum-like areas around and sometime we felt some fear when we walked to subway station near. When we arrived (3pm), our room was occupied by another couple, we had to wait for almost another hour to use it and when we finally were in the room, it was dirty and there wasn't water in the bathroom!. A old guy tried to fix the problem and came to our room every two hours and the last was 6am next morning. a good thing: the touristic info given

Manila is a sprawling mega city and staying at Red Carabao gives you a great central point to begin exploration. Set in a suburb near one of the must see attractions the Chinese cemetery a few minutes walk from the LRT line this expanding pretty hostel has a friendly family atmosphere and Aldrich and his Uncle are always on hand to help you in planning onward trips or guiding you around the city. Aldrich loves to party with guests and he always has a trip out to enjoy the city. its a great place

Hear ye, hear ye!!! Red Carabao hath the best accommodation in all the land! Just and fair are the prices. Wifi runs faster than a mare in heat. Rooms are spacious, clean, and grand. Nearby cheap grub and grog are to be found! Also, the owner/manager Aldridge, who hath picked out all the fine furnishings with his own two hands, doth have the finest moustache I hath ever lain my eyes upon. Pick Red Carabao and enjoy thee a fine stay in Manila, close to attractions and away from dames of the night

Excellent hostel in what feels like an apartment block 2-3 rooms share a kitchen, bathroom and living area. Extremely helpful staff who can provide information on an excellent trip to the mountains in the North.

Firstly I would like to say that the owner of the hostel is nothing short of brilliant! He couldn't have been more helpful. The only significant problem I have with this hostel is its location to the airport. It takes a solid hour in a taxi and when your just in Manila for an overnighter it's not

Just a few minutes walk from the ridiculously cheap LRT finds you at this incredible and wonderful haven of peace and tranquility. You must stay here whilst in Manila!

Really friendly staff, who were very accommodating when we showed up at 3:30am. The owner loves to chat and is a really nice guy. We stored our bags for free while visiting Banaue. Location isn't great but not bad - go to the Chinese cemetery for sure! Fantastic value for money - you won't beat it! The bathrooms could use some more regular cleaning, especially with one toilet for all your guests on the dorm level. The table and counter tops were filthy on the private room level on the night we stayed up there.

This hostel is in a REAL Barangay of Manila. Not a part of the tourist trap. Very friendly people around who always waved hi and were constantly up for a game of basketball. Not far from a really cool farmers market and the LRT. They helped me order a pizza three times. The family that runs it is awesome, you'll find them chilling out in the lobby at times. Building is hard to miss and gorgeous. They'll be happy to show you anywhere to go in the Philippines. This is THE place to stay in Manila.

Rooms are very clean and the whole building is well maintained. Staffs are friendly and the owner was very accommodating and helpful. What I love about it is that we can cook our own food with no additional charge which is really a savings on our part. Will definitely stay here again in our next visit to Manila.

Really great hostel, very clean and nice dorm rooms and a massive common area - also the cheapest accommodation we found on our tour of the Philippines. The manager was lovely too, very chatty giving lots of advice about places to go in the Philippines and travel information. Definitely recommended!!!

Don't stay anywhere in Manila apart from here. Lovely family run hostel. Having never travelled to Manila before they really put you at ease. Hostel is like an oasis within Manila madness. Your near the LRT (train station) so everything is accesable. WIFI is really reliable and fast and they have a computer you can use, day or night. Really can't fault this hostel, we will be back when we return from the islands. All the best, Julian and Sarah.
