It was a cool hostel, and I really enjoyed my stay there. They had all facilities I needed. Location was pretty good, but it could have been better. Near the hostel there are lots of shops that work 24 hours. It's roughly 20 minutes to main attractions. But overall it was great)

Nice hostel, had a pleasant stay. There were two showers and two toilets, but i hardly had to wait and the water was warm ok. Breakfast was white батон bread with apricot jam, cereal with milk and black thee or saturate coffee. Imo not the most awesome breakfast, but the cooking facilities were ok, so you could easily prepare your own food all day. Some nights it was a little hard to sleep because of noise, but i think that's typical for a hostel. You get a locker, but i felt pretty safe.

Great location, very helpful and nice staff, very good price-quality ratio. However, if you are looking for socializing and meeting international people, maybe not the best place as most of the people speak only russian with long term residents, except staff.

It is a nice hostel, just rooms a little bit small (or to meany beds for the room), but common area is really nice, bathrooms and showers clean, staff very kind.

They declare that breakfast is consisted of traditional Russian pancakes, cafe and tea should be non-stop - NO, old bread, ugly jam, milk, that always runs out and cornflakes. Kitchen is always full of people playing on computerw (not eating), only 6-8 chairs - there is no place to sit and eat. There are only 2 toilets and 2 showers for whole hostel (I guess it is about 30 people)...You know, I don´t mind it, in fact I was satisfied, but don´t declare something that s not true!

This was my second stay at Red House. Five of us were here for a couple of nights while making use of the VISA free rule from Helsinki. Lovely style and price, really good location for the city, and the staff and owners were all really friendly. Had quite a few long term Russian residents when we visited (it was out of season) which I always find a little bit odd, but that didn't really detract from a fab hostel.

Staff were very helpful and it was really close to the central street Nevsky Prospect. Dormitories very quite smelly, needed better ventilation.
