Adjacent to Reggae Club which plays loud music over weekends but the noise is not that discernible inside the 1st sty ladies dorm, so fairly good sound insulation. Near the free city shuttle bus stops, food streets, markets, convenience stores. Being at the border of the historic district means it is within walking distance. Minus points are no free lockers outside or inside dorms, so must lock all my bags all the time. Poor weak wifi signal, connection oft. dropping or download speed v. slow

We only stayed one night, but the beds were quite large and comfortable, and unlike the other hostel we stayed in Penang, there was a window, which I personally think makes a HUGE difference. Toilets and shower the same as other places in Penang. More space in the twin rooms. We slept through our checkout because we were very hungover and no one yelled at us!

This is more suitable for backpackers or travelling with friends. Family holidays, not so suitable. The owner is very friendly and accomodating, the staffs are also very friendly and helpful. The place is clean and cosy. Simple design and very comfortable for a short stay. Strongly recommended for people with limited budget, going for a short stay and only need breakfast and bed to sleep in.

The red inn is the original one. A little bit old building but still good to stay. If you're looking for more space. I recommended a Red Inn Heritage. Anyway if i go to GT again, this hostel will be one of my choice :)
