Sad to said that, unfortunately, we have lost one of our sandals there.. Although it is not a big issue, but it still caused some inconvenience for our trip. other than that, should be alright. I will choose the same place to stay if I am going to Penang again.

They have got the basics right: beds are clean, rooms are quiet and showers are high pressured and hot. However, they could do with some proper maintenance work. Shower area could be cleaner. Some of the lamps were broken. A/C gives a slight damp smell when turned on.

Staff are very friendly and helpful. Please dun be shy if you need assistance. Location is excellent, full of night snack stalls nearby. Love Lane itself is already a piece of heritage.

Lack of interaction with staff and guest. It's only a place to stay, not a place to socialise and get to know local culture.

Time to have breakfast at 8.30am...better at 7am because we can go arround in the morning and don't waste time.

Staff are friendly and very helpful. Guess the facilities could do with some upgrading. Had problem with one of the shower - which ever way you turn the tap, can't seems to be able to turn it off.

This is my second time staying at Red Inn, a very nice place!!! Good location and very clean quiet place to stay. They provide very nice breakfast in the morning which we enjoy a lot. I will always come back for a stay if I am going to Penang again

This was my first experience staying at a hostel and I was expecting the worst. Fortunately, I was surprised by how great it was. I had emailed the hostel a day before and they responded to me quickly. Lyn, the lady in the front desk was so nice and sweet, along with the other staff at the hostel. The rooms were clean. Great value for your money. They offer a good breakfast in the morning as well. I enjoyed my stay here very much.

Nice clean hostel, good location in centre of Georgetown.

The hostel main entrance closes at 12am, and one of staffs or owner was a little cranky to open the door for us when we returned after 12. But aside that, overall, everything is good!

super love this place, the wood stairs, high cells, especially the lobby. good location. but there are many places called "red inn xxx", be careful when finding the exactly place.

Superb hostel! Well located, clean, comfortable, the staff was very friendly, the breakfast complete (toasts + omelette + hot dog sausage + unlimited coffee/tea). It's true that the bathrooms are quite small and often wet, but it is a great value for the money. I would stay there again, no doubt.

The rooms are simple but very clean and comfortable, and the aircon works very well. The shared bathrooms are clean and rather small, unless you use a dedicated shower stall which are larger. Breakfast is tasty - toast, simple omelette, sausage, coffee/tea - and the same every morning. My only caution is that the walls are very thin so you can hear your neighbors talk. The location is phenomenal for seeing the UNESCO sites, and there's a bus station ~30 sec walk away to get to the beach.
