What a great place! I've spent a fair amount of time in hostels: this is one of the best, particularly because of the staff. They've created a welcoming, casual atmosphere akin to being in a friend or family member's home. I will absolutely stay at Red Palm again. Comfy bed in the single, good water pressure in the cold shower (they also have a hot shower), comfortable common room, excellent location (close to Monorail, food) and clean enough for a city hostel in an older building. Thanks!!

Thanks again for your wonderful "home", a highly recommended hostel.

Loved it! The staff were so nice and genuine. It's very hard to find a decent hostel in Kuala Lumpur, so this is a bit of a gem.

Awesome place to stay, the staff there was lovely and I would deffinetly be coming again. The people are very helpful and the place is what is necessary while traveling. It was hard to leave because a large part of me felt like I was leaving great friends. The atmosphere of this place is great, therefore it made it easy to make friends with other backpackers. One of the best places I have stayed in.

This may appear like a small hostel, but this is what makes is so valuable, as you are most likely to have personal relations with the staff, and they will call you by your name. And yes, the staff members are extremely friendly and polite. My stay was very comfortable. If you are a solo traveller, ask for a room in the attic - it will be a very quiet and even romantic experience :))

Red Palm feels just like home, the staff treat you like friends but not in that fake way that some people have. Lovely.

I think this is one of the nicest backpacker hostels I have stayed in. It feels more like a home than a hostel. As its not too big you get to know all the people that stay there. The staff are really lovely, welcoming and friendly. Its got a TV/sofa/ cusions where you can all just chill out. I will definataly be going back next time I'm in KL.

The staff are quite informed and have excellent recommendations about what to do in KL and/or how to get it done. The atmosphere is quite pleasant, and it's conveniently located near a lot of shops, restaurants, and the monorail.

Very friendly, welcoming and informative people. There's a wealth of useful books and leaflets and they have blindingly fast wifi which coped with me uploading 100s of MBs of pictures onto my website in minutes!

I felt like a steamed fish after my first night at the Red Palm. The single, white room at the back has no air-conditioning, unlike the dorms. My second night was an equally steamy affair. Fans are best to use in breezy places, where it is generally cool e.g. by the sea (not in cities), I guess. Staff were fine etc.

Unfortunately the hot shower is basically non functioning - the water is literally a trickle. The cold shower works great. The staff at Red Palm are lovely, lovely people, and always ready to help in any way. There is also a tremendous amount of travel literature in the lounge for reading and planning. It is a pleasure to stay at Red Palm.

Very clean and great value. As with a lot of hostels in Malaysia the walls are a bit thin so you can hear other guests stomping around a bit at night and there are a few infrastructure quirks (showers upstairs don't work when the downstairs ones are on and occasional electricity failure). We had a great stay though and would
