Red Palm has a great location minutes from the monorail, linking it to the rest of the city and surrounding area. Tones of restaurants and shops nearby as well if that's your thing. What really separates this hostel from the others is the welcoming staff and friendly, homely atmosphere. I can't begin to say enough how helpful and kind everyone at Red Palm was, they really make you feel at home. Everything was clean and comfortable, and the common room is very relaxing if you want to kick back.

Good place to stay, the place itself is bit old thus the weak water pressure at the upstair bathroom. However, they made it back at the warmth and atmosphere of the place. Bit difficult to find the place due to lack of signboard but just look for Indian restaurant (it is located next to the restaurant). Strict rule for alcohol consumption inside the place (it is a Muslim country), you can have your drinks at the front yard. They have cute cats at the ground floor so Good if you like cat.

Operating on tight budget, getting worn out, heater and shower needs some fixing, toilet flush sometimes not working, thin-walled. Friendly owners, clean living areas and beds, clear travel directions although map provided could be clearer.

The bit that let the hostel down was the shower facilities. If they fixed that up they'll be the top hostel again.

This hostel is basically a big room separated into several rooms by thin boards that dont reach to the ceiling, they draped cloth over the top to simulate a ceiling but you can hear everything going on in all the other rooms. The air-con was not actually in our room it was in the hallway and they turned it on at night to let it filter through the cloth ceiling. The staff was very nice but I thought the room was very overpriced for what we got.

My home in KL. 3 stay in 3 years, and I like it and will stay there again for sure. Good bunk bed, very nice staff, relaxed atmosphere, very good location to food, bars, shopping and transport.

I would definaltely recommend this place. It's easu, affordable and comfortable. They have a common room with a huge selection of DVDs that is available for free. There is a really good 24-hour restaurant right next to it. And everything is within walking distance. The only negative was that the showers had low pressure and the hostel was a little hard to find (no sign..), but that's it. I would, without a doubt, go to this place if I come back to Kuala Lumpur.

Red Palm is an excelent hostel. All the staff is so helpful. Although the time of opening of the front desk was not all night, they stayed waiting until every one arrived. They are really flexible in the check in / out time.

Rustic- that's how I describe Red Palm. They guy at the reception was really nice, aswell as the "old" lady who helped us when we arrived. They young lady however needs to be trained how to give good customer service. The location is in the middle of everything- restaurants, bars, shopping malls, hawker etc. All just a stone throw away. The downside of this hostel is that the rooms have very thin walls that does not go up to the ceiling and the dorm bed squeak even with little movement.

Nice hostel with very helpful, friendly staff. Within walking distance of China Town and Petronas Towers. Friendly, chilled out atmosphere. My only frustration was the lack of proper ceilings, but instead sheets being spread above the rooms, meaning we could hear everything in all rooms and one noisy person coming in late woke us up.

This is a fantastic, welcoming guest house. I could not say enough good things about Red Palm! They were so friendly and helpful and the location is perfect. It is a clean place and has coffee and breakfast included. This place really made our trip to KL the amazing time that it was! Met some wonderful other travelers there as well. Highly recommend!

Staff is very very good. Great atmosphere. Best location! But I what I didn't like is 2nd fl bathroom. Bad water pressure and you can't control temperature, extremely hot or cold only. And also a bed is quite not comfort for me.

The staff is very friendly, so it makes you feel like you're at home with family and not just staying a few nights at a hostel. The location is great, very close to many bars and shopping centers. The monorail is fairly close so its cheap and easy to get around KL. I do wish there were more bathrooms there, sometimes you have to wait awhile for a shower. But it is the cheapest place in the area, many places nearby cost twice as much.
