I think this is one of the nicest backpacker hostels I have stayed in. It feels more like a home than a hostel. As its not too big you get to know all the people that stay there. The staff are really lovely, welcoming and friendly. Its got a TV/sofa/ cusions where you can all just chill out. I will definataly be going back next time I'm in KL.

The staff are quite informed and have excellent recommendations about what to do in KL and/or how to get it done. The atmosphere is quite pleasant, and it's conveniently located near a lot of shops, restaurants, and the monorail.

Very friendly, welcoming and informative people. There's a wealth of useful books and leaflets and they have blindingly fast wifi which coped with me uploading 100s of MBs of pictures onto my website in minutes!

I felt like a steamed fish after my first night at the Red Palm. The single, white room at the back has no air-conditioning, unlike the dorms. My second night was an equally steamy affair. Fans are best to use in breezy places, where it is generally cool e.g. by the sea (not in cities), I guess. Staff were fine etc.

Unfortunately the hot shower is basically non functioning - the water is literally a trickle. The cold shower works great. The staff at Red Palm are lovely, lovely people, and always ready to help in any way. There is also a tremendous amount of travel literature in the lounge for reading and planning. It is a pleasure to stay at Red Palm.

Very clean and great value. As with a lot of hostels in Malaysia the walls are a bit thin so you can hear other guests stomping around a bit at night and there are a few infrastructure quirks (showers upstairs don't work when the downstairs ones are on and occasional electricity failure). We had a great stay though and would

Red Palm is the best place to stay in KL; in Bukit Bintang area, close to the monorail, shops, cafés, restaurants... But beyond all, this hostel is clean, comfortable, friendly and relax. Now, it really feels like I have a home sweet home in KL cause of the lovely staff over there. Thanks for being you Red Palm! :)
