The hostel was okay but there was major issues with water and you weren't ableTo shower, wash your hands or flush the toilet for like 20hrs of the day. I had most Of my showers out of a bucket and saw a lot of peoples s#*t. Also when I got to hostel the price had doubled from the price at booking, going from $16 to $33 per night and the hostel refused to honor the booking price instead they blamed hostelworld and charged me double. Not happy, it's definately not worth the price

Thanks for your review! We are very sorry for not meeting your expectations. The water issue has been affecting Jamaica and Kingston in particular for weeks as there has been an extended dry period. We have since seen major improvement in the water situation since your stay and our guests are not being inconvenienced any longer. The issue regarding billing seems down to a misunderstanding and we apologise for that, we have emailed you regarding refund arrangements. Bless

Staff are incredible. And the hostel offers rides to the main points around kingston.

If you're traveling to Kingston this is a must stay, bar none. If you're looking to meet up with young travelers, this is the place to do it. It's located within walking distance to Half Way Tree, so you'll be able to find transport all around the city. You can have the front desk hail a cab but it'll be pricier. The hostel has daily and nightly events and they even serve a cheap breakfast. Do yourself a favor and book Reggae Hostel if you're any self respecting traveler.

Pretty good overall, with friendly (albeit a bit disorganized) staff and a good atmosphere. Good place to start your travels in Eastern Jamaica. Location near the Half Way Tree bus terminal is also quite good, though the street that the hostel is on unfortunately has some stray dogs which are not so nice at night. Facilities are decent, but price is quite high and when I was there Jamaica was undergoing a drought which meant long periods without any running water.

Security is top notch, gated and there is a security guard all day. Bar in the backyard, air conditioned rooms, bunk beds a little short though. Functional kitchen, big dining/chillout area, guitars lying around. Computer with internet, WiFi. Good information on the billboard about buses, where to get to places, general info. Recommended to anyone but maybe not people wanting to go relax, this is definitely a place to have fun and mix with people.

It was such a blast staying at the Reggae Hostel in Kingston! The staff always catered to everything we needed with a smile and the atmosphere of the hostel was vibing with tons of friendly travelers from all over. I would without a doubt recommend this place to anyone looking to meet interesting people and just have a good time relaxing in the yard.

Really nice place for a stay in Kingston. You get to know many people from all around the world and it's pretty relaxing to hang out in the backyard (maybe they could put some plants there, so it would be even nicer). Otherwise, nothing to complain about. Loved staying there!

A safe, friendly, comfortable oasis in a challenging city. Makes Kingston a lot less intimidating. Hostel is a big house on a spacious walled lot. Multiple levels of security including a security guard at night. Neighborhood is residential and seems safe (although you wouldn't walk at night anywhere in Kingston). About 2 km from the Knutsford bus - walkable, but taxi is probably better (~$6). Some rooms have A/C, so be sure to ask. Good wifi. No sign in front, so you have to know the address.

Great location, great staff, great value for money and wonderful people in general! I definitely can recommend this hostel to anyone! Hostel was clean and breakfast was good and cheap. Free coffee and tea was a really nice plus. Missing everyone already!
