Amazing Hostel. It's definitely a social atmosphere which is exactly what I needed. If you want a a place to yourself that's very private, you should probably go to another spot, but then again, Kingston isn't a very private secluded spot. So this place is very amazing. The staff is great too. They are all from Kingston and can tell you everything you need to know to have a good time.

I love the Hostel. the cleanest hotel I've ever visited. Staffs are really friendly and sweet (I already miss Merline!) The Reggae hostel is pretty far from the KIN airport but I wouldn't recommend take a taxi from KIN airport to Hostel and from hostel to airport. There is a bus number 98 which goes to Downtown, you can take 98 in front of airport then go to final destination downtown. Then transfer to number 500 which goes to half way tree(final destination). Hostel is closed to Half way tree!

Great hostel! Absolutely loved staying there and would definitely go back!!! The staff a very friendly and super helpful; they told us about a reggae concert going on and called taxi's for us and anytime of the day. Also very nice yard to relax and hang out in with a bar and a paddle pool to cool off in! Only thing is they didn't have small lockers to lock up important things in the room I stayed in. Other than that it is fantastic. =D

This hostel is fine - it's in uptown Kingston, about 15 mins walk from Halfway Tree, and there's not a lot within walking distance. Not a lot seems to happen there, although the staff are very nice. The beds are very comfortable, and the bathrooms are clean - just not much going on!

Nice and cheap hostel in uptown Kingston. Good atmosphere and nice places to hang out. Not enough lockers in our room and a bit too little space in our four bed dorm. Otherwise a great hostel and good value for your money.

A nice hostel, very very clean. Everything was working properly (wifi, hot water, fans, ...). We just wish New Year's Eve event was better organized.

Security on the front door was excellent, not much security for your belongings inside the hostel. This hostel is in a quiet suburb, easy to get to shops and public transport. Relaxed vibe.

This is the only choice for backpackers in Kingston. The price for single travellers is high and the price for a private en-suite room is just ridiculous. As a couple you're far better off with one of the cheaper hotels in New Kingston. Wifi is free and reliable, facilities clean. Rooms are basic furnished with wooden bunk beds.

We stayed here on several occasions during our trip, and the owner Scottie was very flexible in helping us adapt when needed and helpful with any information regarding further travels. The location was safe and within walking distance to many attractions uptown. The atmosphere is great - there is a bar within the hostel and occasionally they make meals which was great for settling in quick. We went out to concerts, clubs and for fireworks on New Years! So much fun, great place! Highly recommend!

Unfortunately, my visit to Kingston was not the best. On my way into the city, someone ran into my rental car and left. Luckily the staff at Reggae Hostel were quite helpful and friendly. They told me where to go to file a police report and went out of their way to make me feel welcome. Zana was really nice. Scotty was cool as well. I guess the one downside of the hostel was that the place was a little more congested than I was expecting, but it was during Christmas holidays.
