Just a good simple hotel. The fan in the bathroom didn't work very well.

The hostel Aeminimum in Coimbra is situated right in the best area for visiting the narrow streets. shops, restaurants, cafés of downtown Coimbra. We were very pleased by the friendliness of the staff. The car was well and safely placed in the nearby garage. No extra charge for using the garage. The garage exit, however, was difficult to handle. The bedroom was OK, and we felt happy to be in the hostel for two nights.

There was a big problem with the staff, who quoted us one price at check-in and then tried to charge us a different (higher) price at check-out. They were lying to our face, and it was a very nasty situation. In the end, we had to call the police. The hotel threatened to charge us for a second night (since now they had our credit card details).

The receptionist was most helpful in suggesting places to eat and best directions for walking into old town, which was very close by.
