If you are looking for character, this is the place. Its an old, mazelike building, with random stuff in every corner, and I'm sure no two rooms are the same. As far as modern facilities though, its probably not your best choice. Nothing too serious, there was hot water and door locks, but don't expect luxury.

The hostel is quite good and located in the city center. The room facilities were good but there is no breakfast included. It would be better if they would offer breakfast as well but there is a super market quite close to the hostel and there are many restaurants also close by.

we had a fantastic stay in faro, great stay in the dandy very charming and quirky with random stuff everywhere, very clean, very helpful staff showing map and places of interest in faro. great location, very cheap, the only bad thing is no kitchen which is a back packer essential. overall good stuff

Great place - in the strict city center, located in an ancient building (imho the most beautiful in all Faro:-), wonderful azulejos!). The room was very clean, nicely and comfortably furnished, equipped with air condition and fridge and it was cleaned daily. The staff was very nice and helpful even if not very good in english language.

Nothing to complain about. The staff is only average nice. The only drawback is that there is no kettle or glass in the room, so you can only drink soft drinks or go to the bar downstairs.. But it's very clean, there is TV and fridge, it's in a good localization.

The two members of staff we met had little English so conversation was limited. The double bed was up against the wall and the outside half was distinctly more uncomfortable (worn?) than the inside part so my husband slept badly. The window looked out on an adjoining close building but was better than no window. Also had a small ensuite. But lack of privacy to have people at the free computer right up against our door! Overall comment: clean but old-fashioned, cluttered, a warren of small rooms.

A good place to stay if you want to be close to the centre, and have cheap private accommodation. The wireless internet worked well.

The room was very stinky, they need to clean the bathroom better.

For just one night it was fine... If you're planning on staying longer in Faro, I would recommend finding somewhere a bit more comfortable.

A very nice place to stay with very helpful and friendly staff! My room had no windows but this enabled me to sleep without disturbance of any street noise and thought it was great for the money! The doors are closed at 11pm for added security, but the staff were willing to let me in when I returned after a night out! Communication with the staff was not a problem as the lady was able to speak to me in English or Portuguese.

I only needed a one night stay as I was going to the airport the next morning - and for that it served its purpose. I paid £20 and got clean double bed, tv in room and clean bathroom at the end of the hall. I agree with the review which compared it to a funeral parlour, the building is decorated very strangely indeed with holy statues, African masks and paintings cluttering up the walls and corridors.
