Residencial Funchal has a good reputation. I don't really know why. The staff were friendly enough (though not very happy and with little or no English). The room was OK for the price (clean, small, no view). The facilities are quite old and tired but functional. The walls are thin (bedsprings squeak when your next door neighbours are having a shag); There's really no "atmosphere". Its location is excellent - just across the road from the market. Internet was weak. Average for the price.
