Very good service and localized in the center of Funchal. I recommend.

It would be great if there was a fully equipped kitchen for the residents. There is a fridge at the reception, they were helpful with cutlery and allowed to put little things to the fridge. Room was relatively quiet with windows etc. closed, could be better but you will rarely find windows that seal in Portugal anywhere. Only noise was from garbage truck in the evening or once from residents talking "loudly" in the night at the reception. For the money it's a good place in city center.

The room was nice, but the shower leaked water and it overall had a lot of mold. Also, the walls were very thin and you can hear almost everything and staff talking at the entrance. Not expensive, but there is no place to park your car, which will incur in additional costs unless you wake up very early every day.

Location was very good, close to everything. We stayed in only for 1 night, so it was ok. Very cheap accommodation, we dont regret money. Room was clean but only night lamp was functioning, so we needed to use the light from the toilet :) Anyway, for our trip it was ok. I have been to worse hostels.

It's a shame there is no common space or common kitchen. We were missing knifes and generally basic kitchen equipment (mugs, forks, plates). Also there is no computer for common use, although when we needed we could use the one reception - the same with knife ;)

Two problems. No any kitchen room in hostel and no way to free park car in near hostel. So there are much bigger costs because of eating in restaurants (8 euro dinner) and leave car in underground parking (6euro 24h). Rest was ok. Comfortable bed and everyday cleaning
