I always like to return to monte verde it is now an upgraded family style small hotel with greta staff and amenities located in the best area of funchal

I really like the location of the hostel in the gardens and within a nice 10-15 min walk to the city.Room was spacious and each day nicely cleaned.All in all a very good stay and value for money. Only two things that could be taken into consideration...in December it was a bit cold during the night and there's no heating in the room and maybe the bed could be a bit more comfortable:) However, very nice staff, welcoming and helpful. Enjoyed the balcony and small breakfast's each day.

Very nice, quiet and cozy hostel. Staff is really wonderful - helped in any situation. Special thanks to Louis the receptionist. Very humorous guy and helped a lot.

You'll get comfortable room with big terrace and average breakfast for reasonable price so you can survive a little bit strange attitude of staff and some other difficulties (e.g. half-broken toilet or very curious cleaning lady)
