Located in the heart of Rethimno, which is perfect for making day trips to Chania and Heraklion. The satff is amazing - Ivan and Chris are great, great guys. I was aware that the bathrooms were located in a separate building, and that there were only 3 plugs per room, so I won't let that diminish my rating. It's a great place to stay to meet like-minded travellers, and the value for money is incredible.
Such a sweet place with lovely lovely vibes. How a hostel should be! Chris and Ivan are the best, the location is great right in the old town, it has a sweet balcony where everyone hangs out. I would love to come back sometime!
Rethymno Hostel is a very cool place. You will meet a lot of nice people, relaxing atmosphere and nice music. People from the staff are vey nice and clever, they are easy going but they can also keep the rules at a good level. the bathroom and commodities are always clean, they wash them at least 3 times a day. Room are nice enough for the price you are paying. Wi fi works very well. Cheap prices for water, coffee or little meals youcan cook cause the kitchen is well equpped. Bye Ivan!
Great staff! Atmosphere was fun. Close to bus station.
Very Comfortable stay! rooms are clean with fans and good beds. Alec & stefan are incredibly nice and put in the effort to make a very warm/ friendly atmosphere. Awesome dinning area with full facilities and great music playing constantly. Showers and bathrooms are great. Not a single bad thing to say about my stay here would highly recommend this hostel !!!

The hostel is well located in the old town , but in a quiet street and easy to find. The atmosphere was very relaxed and I met nice travelleres there. The area downstairs is new renovated (including the sanitary facilities) and looks nice. The area upstairs would need the same procedure. I was a little annoyed to pay for the linen 1,00€ extra. If you need a tailor, next door there a shop where an old lady does her job very well
Great staff, very knowledgeable. Always on hand to help and a perfect mix of characters. the common area is the perfect place to meet people.
Awesome place, great vibes!!! Will be back:)
Average beds but central location and very friendly staff, great value.
Excellent location in the heart of old town, close to the harbour and bus station.
Alex and Stefan are wonderful people! They maintain a very relaxed and fun atmosphere and are very knowlegable about activities all over Crete. Arriving to the Herklion port, it is an €8.30 1.5 hour bus ride to Rethymno (definitely would not want to stay in Herklion) which is a lovely place with tons of shops, restaurants, grocery stores, beaches etc. And the hostel is a few minutes walk from the bus stop. Only thing that wasn't ideal is that the bathrooms and showers are located outside.

Such a great place to stay and chill. The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful, the beds are comfy and the location is incredibly central. If you stay there (or any other hostel) in the future, here is a word of advice - WASH YOUR OWN BLOODY DISHES AFTER YOU EAT, YOUR MOTHER IS NOT THERE TO WIPE YOUR BUTT AND THE DISHES THAT YOU LEFT DIRTY IN THE SINK WILL NOT MIRACULOUSLY CLEAN THEMSELVES SO THE NEXT PERSON CAN USE THEM. Like seriously. Respect others.
Great location, really nice staff and also very clean. My only complain was the room was reaaaaaally hot at night! but if you are fine that, nice hostel!
Pros: Amazing location, staff and atmosphere. Always kept very clean. Cons: No lockers, bad beds.
Heart of town but honestly Rethymnon itself is small and not full of activities so if you're car-less it's better to be near the bus stop! Lovely owner, makes effort to entertain guests but also respects tiredness and need for space. Stacks of space to dry laundry/eat/internet/socialise. Kitchen well equipped + value breakfast. Awesome wifi. BIG FLAWS: long long trip to bathrooms, bedrooms very hot and stuffy. Never used my key, anyone can walk right into bedrooms + stored luggage not secure
The hostel is well located in the center of the town, its 5 minutes walking towards the bus station. The beds are comfortable and the staff is nice. It has a kitchen that you can use. The internet doesn´t work properly.
I had a great stay at Rethymno and I think that was mainly due to the people I met at the hostel! Great location - quite hard to find on the map and directions given though! Security is not brilliant, however it's a trustworthy hostel! I slept 'in the roof' - amazing space where you're woken by the sun rising in the morning, much cooler then the rooms! Good showers, and decent wifi.
Its a good value for your money but you get what you pay for. The Staff was súper kind. I just wish they had fans in the rooms and soap in the bathrooms.
Staff is amazing. Alec and Ivan are the best. Make you feel at home and really nice gents. Can't beat 10 euro for this place, stay on the roof. It's beautiful and cool to sleep at night
One of my FAVORITE hostels ever. As soon as I got there, Alex sat down with me to greet me and I knew right away that I was going to stay for more nights than I originally planned. The vibe at this hostel is amazing--people hanging out all day on the patio. Minor inconveniences: no outlet near my bed; had to go down the stairs and outside to use the bathroom; Wifi is slow. But I didn't care, because the staff was SO nice and I just so welcomed by everyone there. Great place to make friends.
