As a solo traveller this was a great place to meet people and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Its very clean and you can buy cheap drinks there. Only downside is its near a church that rings its bells in the morning but otherwise the location is close to the old town shops, bars and beach. Highly recommend.

As you've undoubtedly read in other reviews, the staff here (Alexander!) really make it stand out, but they are only just a bonus. The location is great, just off the main road, not far from the bus terminal in Rethymno, and the atmosphere is gracefully conducive to meeting other travelers from all walks of life. And lastly, they just dropped the price to 9 euros, and I can't imagine time better spent. Towels are not provided, showers were decent, toilets were solid, beds were fine.

It was amazing get to know the staff, the local and other people that keep visiting the hostel, even when thwy weren´t stay in there, but for the hole life keep visiting this amazing place. The hostel is a history itself, the place, the staff, everything, the location and the things you can learn in this place is worth every cent. If you´re looking for a nice, friendly and lovely place to go, even in winter, and even if its not for stay, pass by and talk to the guys that keep coming and going.
