Solid hostel! Everyone drinks and parties together. The hostel hosts great events each night around the city that all staff take part in. Rooms are good but basic as expected and I would watch your stuff in the rooms. Best hostel out of 4 so far.

You havent experience Budapest unless Uve been to retox. They took care of us everyday and night. I was never bored and the staff were unreal. I travelled on my own expecting to meet one or two people and hae an average time but I walked in everyone said hey and everyone became a family. Be sure to go to retox over the weekend and u will loose ur mind! I've been told of this Budapest black hole and its true. Once ur there u dot wanna leave. I'm going back in a few weeks time to kick on partying!

Simply the best hostel I've ever been to. Great location, fantastic atmosphere, nice people, there's no way one can get bored there.

This place is awesome. You'll party, you'll get drunk and you'll meet people. The staff is great and friendly and they will organize events everynight along with the other party hostels. I mean the place is called Retox this should give you a pretty good idea of what the atmosphere is like.

Remember this is a party hostel!!! But if you're into that you'll have the time of your life. Staff are fun, helpful and have a good time with you. Loved it

This is by far the most crazy and fun party hostel I have been to in the whole of Europe. If you are looking to party, meet new an amazing people, have a wild and careless time. This is the place to be. Be aware you might never leave!

Retox has an amazing atmosphere and is the most unique hostel that I've ever stayed at. It is truly a party and hostel and is in perfect location.

Why detox when you could Retox? Stayed over a long weekend, and could not have picked a better place to stay. The staff are so welcomeing and make no bones about the fact that people stay here to party, and if you're looking to relax and sleep, other hostels are avalible. Everyday some activity is avalible, from caving to walking tours, then the nights are where the hostel really stands out. Pub crawling to some of Budapest's best spots, Pool party on the weekend, and the famous jaeger train!

In our option, one of the best hostels in Europe! this hostel has a great artistic, relaxed, party atmosphere and is staffed with some of most awesome people we've ever met while travelling! They are full of advice and are happy to answer all your questions! If you are looking for good vibes and lots of partying then look no further! This place is a must for any Budapest party goer! We are most certainly going back for a second helping of retox!!

You will literally have to drag yourself away from the hostel to see the city. Could never recommend this place enough, can't wait to come here again.

Nothing for the fainthearted, it is loud, messy and there is always something going on, but thats what you expect from a party hostel!I can't recommend it for couples (singles might have their fun though) or people with a hightened sense of cleanliness (it is a bit filthy). The location is pretty good and the social/evening activities definetly make your stay more interesting. Atmosphere was party oriented and people were rather 'laid back' (most from AUS or US). Easy to have fun there.

if you want to party and meet heaps of people than this is the place it is non stop all you have to do is rock up and drink, the best party scene so far on my travels, but be warned you will not sleep here ended up staying for a week bender when originally planned to stay for 2 nights you will get trapped here. so good.

Great staff! Everyone was super friendly. Totally cool security system - room keys were made into a watch so hard to lose. Blankets were dried on the balcony awning - not particularly clean. The rooms were cleaned everyday but weren't the greatest. Ensuite bathrooms wasn't too bad but still a little bit dirty. Room of 10 only had 1 shower and toilet - hard to share.

Unbelievable hostel, stayed in many but this one cuts the mustard. big on partying and massively helpful, caters to all group sizes and single travellers. cheers retox will visit soon

this hostel was amazing, the staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recomended

The hostel was extremely dirty in general (common room, hallways, office, etc.). There were no clean towels available and the general look of the hostel is very dirty and insecure. Probably good for party people, but not good if you want to go to Budapest to actually see the city and rest at night.

The best hostel I'll never remember

I initially booked this hostel based on rave reviews from another traveller who had been there. I booked four nights originally and ended up staying for two weeks. The staff are amazing and definitely work to make people feel included, particularly people traveling on their own. The security is good, but bring your own padlock. Definitely the spot to go to for partys-- theres events on every night, and almost all of them are amazing. Rooms and bathrooms are cleaned daily.
