I enjoyed staying in Shevchenko as always, but personally I miss some guy who had worked there before. Time is running... I'll be back.

Close to town, easy walking distance. Staff weren't very helpful when we arrived, didn't even tell us there was a lounge/chill out area, laundry or anything! Didn't know which floor our room was on either. Room was nice though, 3 bed deluxe private, had private bathroom and separate toilet and a little balcony (with no railings). Could see how in summer the place might be more exciting as the foyer area is huge with lots of couches. Very quiet in winter.

1. It's written that there is a breakfast BUT there is NO BREAKFAST 2. YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR SAUNA AND JACUZZI 100 UAH/h 3. We got lost and almost missed our train following what girl on the reception told us, She recomended us to walk somewhere pretty far and take a tram from there to the main station, I told her that trams are not going cause of the renovation but she said that those were going and of course trams were NOT going. 4. They didn't update information about anything

The personnel of the hostel was very friendly and helpful. But the nights are loud and disturbing because of the many school-groups, that flow into the hostel ! They should not offer that hostel for adults, when you are tired in the evening you can`t sleep here because of the tumultous noise ! Awful !

I had a great stay at the Retro Hostel. The staff is awesome, helpful and very friendly. The dorms have private bathrooms which makes it very convenient and comfortable. in addition, the location is perfect. Enjoy it!

Direction for the hostel are very very BAD! you have to know that there are 2 Shevchenko roads! one is street and the other is prospekt (like avenue). The staff is not always useful. There are 3 girls, just the tall and blond one (SORRY I FORGOT HER NAME!!) is amazing! If you need something go to her!

Great location. Good room with ensuite bathroom and TV (Ukrainian channels only). Very helpful receptionist who directed me to the coolest dinner experience of my trip (please ask about where to eat for the lowdown). Only one downside: older spring mattress was not my most comfortable sleeping experience.

My experience in this hotel wasn t very good : wet sheets, horrible matrasses, strange smell in the rooms, nothing to put the clothes on in the bathroom... Actually, only the location of the place was good!
