Stock standard hostel, nothing special in terms of the actual place, but all the staff were really helpful. Would stay again.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Reykjavik Backpackers! The staff are great, they help you if you need it. And the people staying there are fun to be around :)

reykjavic backpackers was definately one of the better places i have stayed, clean, informative and a great location. They are renovating a little but had no bearing on our stay. If it was not so far from Australia i would surely stay there again. nice work team. i should also give a special mention to Oia, our giude up the glacier.. pulled out the big guns when one of the party decided to go for a swim.. only an american could be so stupid..!

Desk staff very helpful -- especially due to their ties with local excursion outfits & their own car rental. Rooms were EXTREMELY stark -- just a bed, chair, shelf and lamp, no decoration, but clean & functional. Linens were comfortable. Bathrooms were a little lacking (no hooks, shelves, etc.), but functional. Great if you're a low-maintenance traveler and just need a place to crash. FANTASTIC LOCATION.

Everething was excelent! Once the staff made a hot dog barbecue on the roof! I made a lot of friends there! Itīs located on the townīs main street, they can book excursions for you and accept credit card (donīt need to take cash on the airport!). The only little problem was the noisy beds. They are made by aluminium, not wood. But itīs ok, I understand that there are no trees in Iceland.

Great hostel right in the heart of the city. The only problem with the location it that it is on the main street, which is good if your going out, but not if your sleeping. The rooms are clean and a decent size, and so are the bathrooms/toilets The tv in the tv lounge could do with more than 1 channel though. I would stay here again or recommend to a friend.
