Excellent hostel for party of 2 (mixed), used for an over-night stay with the Reykjavik layover. Staff was excellent and very helpful with luggage, suggestions for the city, booking bus reservations, printing flight confirmations, etc. Luggage storage was secure, breakfast was standard, and price was very reasonable. Would recommend for a similar stay!

was in a great location to look around the city and book tours from. nice and warm but some of the lights in the bathrooms didnt work and you need earplugs to block out some of the noise from the nightclub. the kitchen was handy and i had some trouble with the outside gate after hours, comfortable and conveniant.

I stayed four nights. The hostel ticks most boxes, and is a decent place to sleep between day trips and busy activities. Pluses: recycling throughout the hostel, great location on main street and close to supermarket and bars, cheap drinks, kitchen is small with a nice view. Downsides: beds are basic, there are no lockers or storage in the rooms, you have to pay for duvet separately (800kr for the stay?), Wi-Fi is not consistent. A good place to stay for early tour departures from Reykjavik

We had such fun and thought the place was really good. We dont usually stay anywhere so central as we prefer to be somewhere a bit quieter but on this occassion it was perfect. The staff were really helpful and the fact our room had an outdoor space was a brilliant surprise! Thank you, we will be back! Gem and John

I think it doesn't cost that much just put a couple of chairs and a table inside of the room. It's a bit too stingy just beds in the room without anything else. And it was really really noisy at weekends because there is a pub just next to the hostel. Apparently, the window is not sound proof. But all the staff is really helpful and sweet. Location is excellent too!

We stayed for 9 days and had a great time at Reykjavik backpackers, And I can honestly say we were very sad to leave. There's a real family atmosphere in there, the staff are warm, friendly and know everything there is to know about Reykjavik and it's surrounds.. The hostel itself is welcoming the facilities are always clean. The downstairs bar is a great place to hang out and meet fellow travellers, share a cheap drink and a story or two.. I'll be returning for Sure....

Nice Hostel, but nothing really special. Lot of "do that" "don't do that" signs.

It's a really good hostel right in the centre of the action in Reykjavik. The staff are very friendly and the place is very clean. The only thing that needs fixing is those room doors and the bar could be a bit cheaper (but maybe that's not possible in Iceland!)

Located right in the centre of town on the main street, perfectly located for everything especially the nightife (which is strong on the weekends). Good kitchen/bathroom/showers... Do yourself a favour and get to iceland and see some stuff!

I had a incredible time there, very friendly staff, very nice common area and bar, very cozy and clean, good showers, AMAZING location in downtown close to most of the clubs and restaurants. One thing could be improved: the rooms - there are no lockers inside, not even a chair, a table or any other type of furniture to help backpackers do not leave things spread all over the rooms.

The place needs some money spent on maintenance.

Pretty good hostel, although it was annoying that the bar area closed at 11pm. Also, when I was there it was full of groups of people, so socializing opportunities weren't the greatest, since everyone already knew one another.

Overall I was happy with my stay, however, I changed to kex hostel(extremelly nice) as I was sick and with bad internet and no movies there wasn't much to do there. Pros: Clean, great location, nice bar, nice kitchen Cons: shocking internet, no movie room.
