+ Nice old Riad with loads of character; nice staff on second day - Staff was little noisy in the first night and pushy about money but still ok. Room had no windows which I guess is common for those old fashioned Riads.

An unspectacular Derb leads me to the entrance door. It hides a surprise: a large, bright hall greets me, a Riad with architecturally interesting flair and charm. It is absolutely quiet here. Affable people around me and all my questions regarding excursions were answered friendly and comprehensive. The Souks and Geliz are easy accessible by foot. The roof terrace invites me to relax and have some mint tea. I enjoyed a wonderful stay. Thanks to everyone.

The riad is located 250 metres further to the north, the location on the map is not correct.

I stayed 15 nights in Amlal II and I had a great time. The Riad is bit like a mixture of a student's house and a family where everybody likes each other. The staff is not only friendly, they care for you whatever you need, they prepare you tea and shisha and they will even party with you if you're fancy! Big thanks above all to Hichame! The ones who complain about this place haven't seen any other places. I did. When I went to Amlal, it was 100 % improvement! Great place, also for desert tours!

Terrible place. I had a terrible time. War torn Damascus would be friendlier.

Nice bloke who runs it, but it´s a bit out of town, not too much of a problem but being in the centre would have been nice.

Bottom line I would not stay here again: Pros: Nice looking building, very nice staff Cons: Water did not work could not take a shower, bad soundproofing we could hear the owner and his friends playing loud music in the courtyard while we were trying to relax in our room, really hard to find, when we got out of the taxi some kid offered to take us there but then threatened us when we did not give him as much as he wanted, very cold in the rooms
