Its location is perfect. Just s few minute walk to the square. The staff is more than helpful. As we stayed in the tent bed , so beware of your belonging while travelling during the day. Everything is perfect except the last day before we leavivg my universal adaptor was gone while i charge my camera battery at the terrace.

Many thanks for the majority of your comments. You create in your last sentence some kind of conspiracy over your universal adaptor, as though someone was lying in wait for you to move out of sight from said valuable to take their opportunistic chance with it - Said piece is currently in our safe. It was found in the hostel and placed there for safe keeping waiting for you to claim it.... - rather than a predator waiting to take such an item, it was found in your tent after you had left. When you reserved Riad Layla Rouge you made the decision to reserve the luxury tent. Being a tent, it does not have a door of solid material such as wood or metal, and neither does it have key card access - because that is the very nature of a tent - it is open to the elements, it is peaceful and beautiful. Valuables, such as your universal adaptor, could always be put in a locker or communal safe, which would have been explained to you upon arrival. In fact... that is where it is now. Best wishes for us all at Layla Rouge!

Great location, perhaps a 90 second walk away from the main square (Djemaa el-Fnaa), and with a lot of character - warm colors and a rooftop terrace with tortoises living in it. The value is also great - I spoke with travelers staying in other riads, and they were paying similar prices without the free huge breakfast (daily) or free tea (anytime). The staff could not be friendlier and will go out of their way to help you with anything you can think of.

Comfortable and vibrantly decorated little riad located in the medina, only a short walk away from the central plaza El Fna Dejeema (though at the same time nicely tucked away from the clamour of the souks). Breakfast is excellent and includes several kinds of bread, jam and even includes delicious cakes and fried egg-all of this prepared upon individual request, not the typical hostel 7-10 breakfast layout of package bread and nutella. Highly recommended.

Amazing - simply amazing. I would highly recommend this hostel. The vibe and atmosphere are top notch. The place feels like home and everyone is so friendly. They also have a rooftop terrace with their own pet turtles - seriously - pet turtles! And here's customer service for you: my reservation got lost somewhere along the way and instead of giving me a run around or causing any stress they just simply said "no problem" and put me in my own private room in a building around the corner

The best hostel in which we stayed so far. We stayed in the tent on the roof which was an unique experience. There are plenty of blankets in there so you won't be cold at night. The staff is amazing, they are so welcoming and kind and always willing to help you. The hostel is only 5 min. from the Jamal El Fna, yet in a quiet corner. And they have the best breakfast ever!!

Fantastic place - a really warm welcome and EXCELLENT breakfast!! Hind was lovely and kept the rooms totally spotless! We had an amazing time and the location is perfect for access to the main square! The only thing i would suggest to appease us prude brits would be to put some curtains across the toilet and shower in the deluxe double en-suite rooms. They are completely open to the room so even though I went with a good friend, I still would rather have some privacy in those situations! :-)

This wasn't a very safe area for 2 females to get to in the evening, the rooms didn't lock and our bathroom was shared with a number of people/rooms and didn't have a full door.

Dear Jamie, Many thanks for taking the time to write. The area of our hostel is called El Ksour - it is in the centre of the souqs and about 1 minute from the main square. On each corner there is a security guard, and the way to get to us from the square is for the most part through a busy market street. At the entrance of the hostel's street there are several CCTV cameras. In the hostel itself, there is a communal safe and lockers. The private rooms lock from the outside and inside, but the dorm does not. The bathroom in your dorm is indeed shared with a maximum of 8 people, because the dorm has an 8 person capacity. Should someone not wish to share a bathroom it is best to book a private room and then you get just that - more privacy. Dorms do not engender privacy by their very nature. It is certainly something to consider when booking a hostel. And this is down to personal preference. Best wishes for your future travelling.

very central location, great atmosphere, very nice and helpful staff, free tea whenever, free and tasty breakfast, did henna tattoo there and was awesome, inexpensive and much nicer than those that were done in the djeema el fna. have a bathroom/shower for those staying in tent so the people in the 8 bed dorm don't have to share with them as well. bunk beds were a little high for those on top and room was a little dark but otherwise our stay was excellent! would go back.

The best hostel we've been to. It has so much character, everyone is so nice and it's decorated in real Moroccan style. And the breakfast...it was delicious and prepared just for you :) You can also attend cooking class and book your trips around Morocco from hostel. We highly reccomend it to everyone.

A little difficult to find but that makes it more fun.The place is so chilled, its like crashing at your mates place. We slept in the delux tent and ya it was a little chilly for february but wake up hang over free, fresh as a daisy. Listening to the calls for prayer was amazing, even if by 6 o clock it was so loud, it sounded like coming from inside the tent. Breakfast was gorgeous. The spice shop down the lane, sold an aphrodisiac that was actually Nutmeg, still, my bag didnt smell of old socks

An excellent hostel. The rooms are comfy and clean, there are two good common areas for meeting fellow travelers, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Also, the breakfast in the morning is really good! The only things to watch out for are it gets *cold* at night (at least in the winter, when I stayed), and some of the music they play in the common area is -really- cheesy ;) But still a great place. Highly recommend.

We spent the first night in the tent in Layla rouge which is not recommended in February!! But they were great and booked our second night in their sister Riyad the Neri Neri. The staff are helpful and friendly without being in your face and the trips they offer are great value if you're only here for a short while . The breakfast is fantastic. Zould definitely reccomend.
