Great hostel, super-friendly staff that went above and beyond (including a dramatic rescue by moped when we'd wandered into the wrong part of town by off-duty staff - thanks, Layla!). As mentioned by other users, fantastic breakfasts - though watch out for rapacious fellow travelers who may help themselves to your breakfast. Very clean as well. For directions, look at their website - best directions ever. Sole problem? No heating!

Be carefull about the cancelations!! I am very unsatisfied about my reserve, the owner do not refund my money when i said 48 hours before the date, which i will not pass the night into the riad the last day. He requests all the money when arrive, and later said one lie: " the clients only can cancel the reserve 24 hours later than the buy". Poor manner!!

Owner Comment (Show)
Dear Future Guests, Rather than provide a response based on the knee-jerk reaction of the above guest, we would prefer to be, as always, reasonable. There is indeed a 24 hour cancellation policy, which in line with many hotels, is very short notice - some places require a week for example. Upon arrival, it is not possible to cancel a reservation. This is simply repetition on our part, as all this is clearly written in the terms of conditions for the hostel. The above guest decided he didn't wish to stay for the last night of his reservation and he attempted to cancel on the same morning. This is not possible, and perhaps this review is actually a blessing in disguise and it proves that we, as a hostel, adhere to our terms and conditions, as do nearly all our guests. It is for this reason, as indeed, it is the reason that most hotels require outstanding payment upon arrival - so that guests honour the reservations they have made. There is a very simply solution to anyone who is unsure of their itinerary. Book one night, and then book further nights should you wish to, the next day if you wish to stay longer. We are not sure why this guest connects his anger regarding not getting his own way with the cleanliness, value, facilities and location of the hostel (which is less than 2 minutes from the square). It is a little childish really. Best wishes and happy future travels to all!

Riad Layla Rouge it's a really friendly and cozy place, in the heart of the Medina, and a really good place to stay in Marrakech. The staff is great, they are kind and prepare a good breakfast. Even thought during the night's and in the morning the room was kind of cold. Thanks for everything

The staff was exceptionially helpful! The facilites are kept very clean and despite the cold nights they had everything in place to ensure we were warm in our beds. The breakfast is amazing and the roofftop terrace is the perfect place to take a break from the city hustle and bustle.

So much character. Amazing terrace with incredible views - a perfect place to chill. Beautiful rooms. Friendly staff. Best free breakfast I've had at a hostel. Free mint tea whenever. Perfect location. Easy to meet people here. I travel a lot and this was probably in the top three of best hostels I've ever stayed at. :)
