Our group was so pleasantly surpirsed because of the great price and for many it was the first time in a hostel but everyone was impressed. The staff at the hostel were very welcoming and helped us settle in. Aziz and Ibrihim were very helpful in sorting out transport an trips. Kadesha and Fatima Zara' s are great cooks and created a great atmosphere at meal times.

Lovely people, really helpful and good location. Not extremly close to the main market square, but a nice walk and there is also a small market and a hammam just a street away from the hostel. I can really recommend Riad Massine II! Would definitely come another time.

This is a superb hostel. Location could not be better, staff and facilities are excellent. I would be very surprised if there is a better hostel in Marrakesh.

Wonderful people, very nice staff! The fact that nobody gets a key, but you have to ring the doorbell in order to get access is annoying but feels safe on the other side. So deceide for yourself.

Riad Massine II has an atmospheric interior, but unfortunately it is located closer to the new town than the souks and Djema El Fna. The walk back at night is not particularly savoury. Unfortunately, we found that Riad Massine II offers a large mark up on the tours an activities. They charge 140dh for a trip to the Hammam, but they walk you to the local hammam 100m away, pay 30Dh for the entrance and leave you there. Similarly they charge double for the standard Sahara tour. Be weary.

The hostel has been in renovation and I was moved into another guesthouse just few steps away, it got no wifi access at first, and room was quite dark with dim lamps. But what really made it was actually the staff there, namely Aziz and his colleague. They are not only professional for local information, but quite friendly to share the life status, and willing to know the culture and religion in my country and offered their thoughts.I've learned a lot. Thank you Aziz, the colleague and the lady!

The hostel is really in the center of Medina, one street away from Djeema el Fna square. The staff is very friendly and always ready to offer you a glass of morrocan tea. The breakfast is not included in the price but its worth to try, we really liked it. The double room we stayed in was very cosy, closed to the terrace.

Very charming hostel with a lot of character, the riad is wonderful ! Plus, the staff is lovely and the breakfast good&cheap. The hostel is quite small, so you really feel "at home", it is quiet and welcoming. Only bad thing: it is 30min walking from the main square and you don't feel very safe when you come back by night. But taxi are cheap anyway, so it is not such a big deal ! So i hightly recommend this hostel !

to put it simply, i stayed 6 nights instead of one night! really great place to stay, i was travelling alone and found the riad the perfect place to meet others and socialise and share travel plans/experiences. only point to note is that due to the design of the building, if anyone is smoking the smoke can travel into the bedrooms, not major, but if you are sensitive to cigarette smoke you may like to know this. otherwise, i hope to be back! thanks guys!

A wonderful hostel! A traditional moroccan villa, beautifully furnished! Breakfast is available to purchase in the morning. No lockers in dorms, that is the only thing lacking. I would definitely stay here again!

Khadeeja, Fatima, Ibrahim and the rest of the staff are just top-class. They taught us how to make couscous, brought us to a hammam, let us use the lounge after we've checked out, and are always ready with a smile :) First time getting there at night was scary, as we were led down an alley, but during the day we realised how safe and convenient it is. Plus, the value of money it's unbeatable. You won't regret it! Will come back there next time I'm in marrakech

This place was incredible!!! The staff was SO friendly and helpful and they treated us like family. They cooked for us and helped us with all of our needs. They are all so kind and willing to help. The hostel is a fantastic. We should have been paying a lot more because this place was so nice and clean and beautiful. The rooms were fantastic and I felt so safe in Africa. We were traveling as 3 19 year old girls and we felt extremely safe. This place is fantastic and the staff is amazing!!

The hosts were very nice and helpful and Riad Massine was an interesting place to stay. However, I don't know whether the Bab Doukkala area is the best place to stay. On the one hand it's close to the bus station and a supermarket and you're smack bang in the real Marrakech. On the other hand it's a 15-20 walk to the Djemaa el Fna if you take a boring walk along the city walls or else risk getting lost in the bustling streets of the Bab Doukkala area.

Bargain accommodation run by truly lovely people, and not as hard to find as some have made out. If you're walking from the train station, set off down the main road with the Theatre Royal on your right. When you reach Bab Doukkala (made up of several arches in the medina wall), walk 160 paces from the arch facing on to the market; on your right you'll see the Derb Sidi Mohamed Haj sign. Take that street, follow it round to the right, turn first left, walk 50 paces and you're at Riad Massine.
