Property Information:
Dar Mchicha is an utterly delightful house, hidden away at the end of a derb (an alleyway in he Old City). It could have been called the House of Silence - that is how quiet and peaceful it is - no noise from the streets or the neighbours penetrates the interior of the house, so all visitors are assured of a good night's rest.
The pleasant interior spaces, the patio with its wall fountain, banana tree - producing plenty of fresh bananas if you happen to be there at the right season, the wooden galleries on the first floor, all add up to create enchanting Dar Mchicha, whose name actually means 'house of the kitten'.
Three rooms, each one named after a race of cat, each with separate private bathroom and toilet. The Angora Room, on the ground floor, featuring an impressive open fireplace, can accommodate up to three people. Upstairs, the Siamese and Persian Rooms, each reached by its own individual staircase, can accommodate 2 and 4 people respectively. Each one has its own private gallery overlooking the patio, giving an 'andalusian' air - you can almost hear the serenades ! The roof terraces just above are the purrfect place for lazing around and relaxing. You can look out over the Old City - a cat's eye view of your surroundings as you soak up the year-round sunshine of Marrakesh
