Ringos Foyer Guest House Reviews

I loved this hostel. Probably the best I've stayed at in South East Asia. The reason: the owner Howard. He goes the extra mile to make you feel welcome in Melaka, with evening bicycle tours and trips to the markets, or his extensive collection of movies. Being at Ringo's Foyer feels like being at home. A place you can truly relax.

Awesome budget accommodation... but as it is solely run by Howard(owner), it is a bit hard to get help at times... for example he was out for lunch when I arrived at the hostel but cant blame him for going for lunch... air con in the private room was good. Bed was comfy though 1 managed to catch a bed bug running out from the mattress.... overall i will still recommend it if you are looking for a budget accommodation.

Melaka is a great town but Howard made the difference in making this a great stopover. Howard owns and manages Ringo's Foyer but he doesn't do it for the money. He just really likes meeting people and helping backpackers meet each other. He gave us a free tour of the town almost every night on his hostel bikes and whenever I needed anything he was there.Also, the Sat night BBQ was awesome! I wish everywhere I stayed was like this. Howard was an amazing host =)! Gave us some insight about the history of the place and the free bike tours in the evening were amazing. Would go back again.

I've passed a long day walking, deadly tired but when I just arrived at Ringo's, it feels like home, my energy immediately got back!! :)

We, my family had a great time stay at Ringos Guest house. Howard is fantastic guy, friendly and hospitable. He introduced guests to one another. Great location and facilities. Perfect place that close to supermarket that everyone needs in a great price. Howard, you are the great owner we ever met. I highly recommend this place to those who are looking for stay in Melaka.

I liked this hostel. The dorm was clean and quiet, and the roof deck was a nice place to hang out. The owner, Harold, is an awesome guy. He knew everyone\'s name and introdduced guests to one another. He also took a few of us to a really cool locals-only style night market, which was a highlight of my stay in Melaka.

great host! couldn't of asked for a more friendly owner, The owner Howard will go out of his way to make you feel welcome and even give you a bike tour if your lucky!

Something could be done to eliminate the bed bugs.

This place has an indescribably chilling vibe...absolutely great for hanging out...i made a lot of friends when i was there. and count on howard for being super nice and hospitable. make sure u ask him what plan he has for the night, there are always some activties: night cycling, BBQ or just trolling the night market n sampling the food. try to stay away from the mosque because it could b real loud in the early morning.

Awesome staff. Took us on a free river tour that was organized by the city of Melaka. The staff there make you feel really welcome and are introduced to everyone when you arrive. Love the character and vibe of the place. Definitely would go back.

good location and a great place toH stay as a solo traveller, met lots of people and had a fun time. Howard will make sure everybody gets together and show you the best restaurants in town. Not the cleanest of hostels but has a great atmosphere.

Ringo's is my favorite hostel in years. The owner, Howard, is a fantastic guy and really goes the extra mile for his guests.

Howard was great, and had many ideas to get people to mingle. I met great people there... but. The first night I noticed a bed bug, and awoke with bites. The next night we stayed up watching a video. We saw another one. Through the night (we stayed up all night) we killed 14 bedbugs rushing towards us on the bed / walls. We made a 7-11 run to get coffee to stay awake. We missed numerous others that got away. I've struggled with posting this, but part of running a hostel is facing major problems.

Pay a dorm price and get a nice standard twin. You'll fall in love head over heel for the reading lounge. Howard is an interesting guy,too.

Howard who runs the place was super friendly and always happy to chat and be helpful. There are no plush facilities but everything you need is here and clean, which is perfect, especially when you consider the great price!

good! delicate decoration in the hostel, clean rooms, friendly and Cantonese speaking staff. Traditional Cantonese dim-sum restaurant nearby~

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Ringo's Foyer. If you are looking for a cheap place to sleep in Melaka then this is a good place to go. Howard who runs the hostel is awesome, and I have never had a hostel owner be so active about getting everyone together and having fun. Amongst the group activities he organized were a roof-top BBQ and a city by night bike ride. I can say that I would surely stay here again. If I could give above excellent on the "staff" portion I would.

We stayed here for four days in a double room with good aircon. The owner Howard took everybody out to eat, arranged barbecues and more. He was truly great in getting people to socialize and had lots of good reccomendations regarding hostels in other places. The wifi and commonroom was excellent as well. Best hostel experince til now.

We really enjoyed our time at Ringo's with Howard, he truely makes the place warm... he works hard and has produced a great wee hostel.. worht a look in for sure..especially if you like bikes!! he also organises group outings.... also.. howard.. if your reading this.. i need your e-mail address as i left my ipod! can't get it on the internet anywhere!! lol e-mail me.. jungle_jim55@hotmail.com
