I had really good time in the hostel, one thing I didn't like is that people who stay in the hostel have to pay entrance for the pub inside the hostel.

Warning! The Hostel has changed its name to hide the old bad reviews. Before it was Samba Rio Hostel. The pictures on the website fool you so bad. In short, very dirty, the room smells bad, bad bathrooms, loud music coming from the pub until 4am, there is an attendant at the desk who always treats you badly, others are helpful, but not enough to erase the bad impression left by the mess that Bohemia is.

Great location for Friday and Saturday night Lapa parties, though you might not want to leave the hostel sometimes as it can get violent down on the streets. But the management need to organize more activities and try to create some character to the hostel, as it appears it used to have. Staff were very helpful when I needed them though.

The location is really unbeatable for the people who want to stay in the bohemian neighborhood of Rio. The staff are good too, always friendly. I had a great time in there, but there is a problem: the hostel has just a few bathrooms, so i had to wait to use it most of the times, and they are not very clean.

Rio Bohemia Hostel in Lapa is one of the best hostels I have ever stayed at. The staff was ridiculously helpful and went out of their way to make sure every guest had an awesome time in Rio. The location is directly under the Arches in Lapa and absolutely unbeatable. I have no idea why the price was so cheap because the building is very safe, the rooms are air-conditioned with multiple fans, the beds are comfortable, and the showers have hot water. If you´re staying in Rio - this is the best!

Rio Bohemia is a great hostel, the manager Carlos is really fun and helpful, it's just like he's a fellow backpacker. The hostel is in the heart of Lapa and the only problem was that once it gets light (we stayed at the wknd) at around 6ish its dangerous to be on the street but the street party was really fun during the night (just dont stay out too late) and you are absolutely fine inside the hostel.
