The hostel is really shabby and dirty, the whole place smells like the filthy bathrooms. The bedsheets are ripped, old and don't appear clean.

Dirty, too many drugs being taken by guest AND STAFF in plain view, not secure, felt very uncomfortable and wanted to leave as soon as I arrived. The only reason we stayed is because we paid upfront and we are on a very tight budget.. I would rather sleep on the streets than stay there again, i´ve stayed in many hostels and i´m not fussy, but this one was on a truly new scale.

my stay in this hostel was during the carneval. The location was just perfect! everyday great carneval-streetpartys right in front of the hostel and also free drinks every night. on the other side.. the stuff was unfriendly and were not really able to tell you anything or maybe they didn't want to, i don't know.. airconditioning was only turned on at night, so it got really hot during the day.

One of the best hostels I've ever been in. Great location near public transportation, beaches and nightlife. The free breakfast and open bar are added perks to an already great place. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly and really make you feel at home. Definitely a great stay for good times and memorial experience.

If you want to party, well Rio is not only the city but Lapa where this hostel is located is definitely the place on a friday night. Hostel may not be the cleanest but it definitely has character and you are likely to meet up and party with a group of great people. If you are looking for quiet place, better look elsewhere, this hostel is definitely not for you.
