Awesome stay, very very friendly staff, very good breakfast and internet! There is a friendly and comfortable bar downstairs and is it in Lapa so you can party a lot and be close to your hostel, the other best thing is that the rooms are really silent, so if you want/need to sleep you can. It's very well located, if you need to go anywhere one bus or a short walk and you are there. I have no complaints, i would definitely stay there again.

Unfortunately, we cut our stay short here because of the dirtiness. The bathrooms were awful, the bunks were uncomfortable and made out of vinyl, and breakfast was the bare minimum. Compared to other hostels in Brasil in this price range, we were very disappointed.

Please don't stay in this hostel if you want to enjoy your stay in rio. The pictures on hostelworld don't reflect how the hostel really looks like at all. None of the rooms has windows. so it was always hot, stinky and dark. in our case it was a room for 16 people. Since there was no way to get fresh air into the rooms the staff used overdoses of airfreshener to cover the bad smell. Bathrooms were filthy, staff unfriendly and unhelpful, breakfast minimal. You can get a much better deal elsewhere

I already give my feedback to the staff in the hostel, is a good hostel but if they buy a new stove and new bed sheets would be an awesome hostel. Staff is great and also the location

I had really good time in the hostel, one thing I didn't like is that people who stay in the hostel have to pay entrance for the pub inside the hostel.

Great location for Friday and Saturday night Lapa parties, though you might not want to leave the hostel sometimes as it can get violent down on the streets. But the management need to organize more activities and try to create some character to the hostel, as it appears it used to have. Staff were very helpful when I needed them though.

Warning! The Hostel has changed its name to hide the old bad reviews. Before it was Samba Rio Hostel. The pictures on the website fool you so bad. In short, very dirty, the room smells bad, bad bathrooms, loud music coming from the pub until 4am, there is an attendant at the desk who always treats you badly, others are helpful, but not enough to erase the bad impression left by the mess that Bohemia is.

The location is really unbeatable for the people who want to stay in the bohemian neighborhood of Rio. The staff are good too, always friendly. I had a great time in there, but there is a problem: the hostel has just a few bathrooms, so i had to wait to use it most of the times, and they are not very clean.

Rio Bohemia Hostel in Lapa is one of the best hostels I have ever stayed at. The staff was ridiculously helpful and went out of their way to make sure every guest had an awesome time in Rio. The location is directly under the Arches in Lapa and absolutely unbeatable. I have no idea why the price was so cheap because the building is very safe, the rooms are air-conditioned with multiple fans, the beds are comfortable, and the showers have hot water. If you´re staying in Rio - this is the best!

Rio Bohemia is a great hostel, the manager Carlos is really fun and helpful, it's just like he's a fellow backpacker. The hostel is in the heart of Lapa and the only problem was that once it gets light (we stayed at the wknd) at around 6ish its dangerous to be on the street but the street party was really fun during the night (just dont stay out too late) and you are absolutely fine inside the hostel.

we had a good time at rio-bohemia the location is the best for the fridays party in lapa!! best view in the district! the hostel is in front of the famous arches and a block away from the famous stairs! the staff was very nice! there is no kitchen yet so take it in advance.. we recommed this place!

The hostel is really shabby and dirty, the whole place smells like the filthy bathrooms. The bedsheets are ripped, old and don't appear clean.

Dirty, too many drugs being taken by guest AND STAFF in plain view, not secure, felt very uncomfortable and wanted to leave as soon as I arrived. The only reason we stayed is because we paid upfront and we are on a very tight budget.. I would rather sleep on the streets than stay there again, i´ve stayed in many hostels and i´m not fussy, but this one was on a truly new scale.

my stay in this hostel was during the carneval. The location was just perfect! everyday great carneval-streetpartys right in front of the hostel and also free drinks every night. on the other side.. the stuff was unfriendly and were not really able to tell you anything or maybe they didn't want to, i don't know.. airconditioning was only turned on at night, so it got really hot during the day.

One of the best hostels I've ever been in. Great location near public transportation, beaches and nightlife. The free breakfast and open bar are added perks to an already great place. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly and really make you feel at home. Definitely a great stay for good times and memorial experience.

except the aircondishiner....which should be open all day in my opinion... because the rooms are with no windows and air..this histel was the BEST i had so far! and im travelling for almost 4 months...

Cramped and dirty rooms. Few and dirty toilets. Noise from pub downstairs.

If you want to party, well Rio is not only the city but Lapa where this hostel is located is definitely the place on a friday night. Hostel may not be the cleanest but it definitely has character and you are likely to meet up and party with a group of great people. If you are looking for quiet place, better look elsewhere, this hostel is definitely not for you.

The hostel is well located - 20min walking from Santos Dumont Airport and just in front of Arcos da Lapa. It's close to Cinelandia Metro Station as well and there are plenty of buses... I didnt feel safe walking around Lapa though.. There are many beggars and crazy people all the time. About the hostel, it's not new and you can not expect confort. the beds, sheets and rooms are old... I recommend it only if you are staying 1 or 2 nights and have lot of things to do outside! Girls don't go alone!
