Nice place, really clean and a bit newer which is nice as you are paying a bit more! Some of the staff were excellent and gave good advice and were super helpful, some were quite unapproachable! I didn't particularly enjoy the atmosphere, but it probably was more to do with the fact that everyone spoke Portugese as a first language and so as an English only speaker, I found myself quite excluded (and while I didn't mind on this occasion, I would have ordinarily!). AC is great, powerpoints too
I liked the hostel and most of the staff were friendly and helpful.

I had a great experience. I was able to practice my Portuguese well and everyone was helpful. Gained new friends from the hostel both local and foreign, the location and the view are very very good. The roof top bar and pool were perfect! Rooms were a bit cramped but good and well maintained. Our stay was nearly perfect except on the last few hours, when we were packing and rushing not to miss our flight. It felt like Marcela almost drove us out of the room and failed to get us a taxi/ taxis.

The staff (Louis) is very kind and helpfull (over the duties). The location is good but the neighbourhood is a bit noisy. The bathroom of the room smells so it has to be always closed.
The highest value of this hostel are people working there. They make me feel really welcome and really helped me. I spend there 2 weeks it was fantastic. Great social zone also. Highly commend. And food-walking distans from LAPA with is the best party place in Rio :P
staff are oke but i have seen better, the atmosphere was not that great when i arrived there. nice facilities tough. location wise its a bit of a hard climb when drunk. for those who think it's unsafe as it's an old favella don't be scared
Beautiful hostel! The staff were sooo friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing - make sure you try the ginger cake! Bathrooms and communal areas cleaned regularly. Felt spacious and lots of chill out areas. Walking distance to Lapa nightlife and easy access to bus to beaches, sugar loaf and christo.
Just PERFECT!!! friendly staff, good location and everything you need is just there. What's better of a swimming pool at night after samba dance in Lapa?
Good hostel. Well located for those who want Lapa nightlife. Staff helps a lot in any problem or necessity. Recommended,

The hostel is pretty nice, the staff speaks english and they are cool people. The only problem i found was that is not very close to a metro station and is up in the hill, so the going up after a day of sightseen in the sun is horrible, but the view from the hostal is really nice.
The staff was great, but facilities weren't the best air con started leaking and leaked for the lockers and on to my clothes rooms were clean the location is great but a lot of stairs to climb up to if your coming back from lapa famous street party but very close to the steps it's like 10 minutes away
Loved this hostel! Such a cool location, up in the hills with a beautiful view, minutes walk from Santa Teresa ( going uphill ) and from Lapa
Stayed for 4 nights and had a really nice stay. It's at the top of Santa Teresa (above lapa) and has incredible views of the city and the coast. The walk up to the hostel is long/steep (25 mins from Gloria metro) but we liked being a little tucked away because we had a chance to explore an area we otherwise probably wouln't have. Breakfast was good (fresh fruit, toast, hot drinks). Showers weren't hot but didn't matter in the heat. Hostel itself is beautiful with cool bar but empty and quiet
We came during off season, and the city was working on the tram that went up the steep hills of Santa Teresa. So, we had quite a hike up to the hostel and then there are a decent amount of stairs to the hostel once inside the gate and then again to the rooms. But it was within walking distance to Lapa.
I loved this hostel and returned the following month. Staff are fantastic, really friendly and helpful. Really loved staying near the bars of Lapa. The hostel bar area is nice and the little dipping pool too. As are the other 2 new longue areas. I was there when they had a BBQ
Overpriced for the world cup (as expected though) Some staff did not speak english that well (the night shift people)
Great location, great pool and bar, nice staff!!
Beware of this place! Its located in a very unsafe area. Our driver drove through favelas to take us to this hostel. Our room was absolutely disgusting. The toilet did not work and there was feces smeared on it. We didnt even attempt to shower because we were too scared of all the mold that was growing in there. Sink was clogged. Room cost us $400 US dollars a night for 4 people. OVERPRICED! Lock on our door was broken. Dogs barked the entire night. Walls were so thin we couldnt sleep. NIGHTMARE

Great location near Lapa but atmosphere isn't great, wifi rarely worked and blatant exploitation and overcharging at play for World Cup. Staff were excellent and helpful. Outside area was cool but no one really hanging out there, inside part was not great to meet people. Actual hostel was very cool with very nice bar area, it was clean and nice in rooms but the 400% price increase for World Cup was over the top.
The ultimate hostel, has everything you need and more importantly a great atmosphere with the most friendly staff. Igor and Felipe are unbelievable hosts and do your up most to make you get the most out of your stay in Rio whether your looking to surf, party or visit amazing sites that Rio has to offer. This is truly the only hostel in Rio you should consider.
