Tiny rooms, but quite clean. The balcony was a great place to meet and chat with fellow travellers. Great value and location. Recommended for backpackers and single travellers.

Care takers could be unpleasant with guests (Particularly Paula) and were often rude. Many other guests also staying at the Rio were also uncomfortable with care takers and avoided being in common areas with them (ie. waited until they were done and out of the kitchen before going in). This made the atmosphere at the Rio awkward, but otherwise the other guests made it fantastic!

We paid extra for a studio room with TV, Kitchen. The TV didn't work . The staff knew about this but did nothing. The hob in the kitchen did not work very good, we had to use the shared kitchen. The toilet needs replacing not bodging. Noise from neighbours at 12, 2 , 3 and 4 in the morning. Staff did nothing. windows would not close. Air con had to pay extra. Blackout curtains to block outdoor light. we had to use beach towels every night So paid for the extras but they did not work.

We stayed for a layover flight. 15min from airport, and located by Dover beach and restaurants. Clean premises. Nothing fancy, we just needed a place to sleep. Def. worth the price! Owners are very nice and let us store our many suitcases in their closet.

Not easy to find and a long walk from bus stop so had to use an expensive taxi from airport. The lady on arrival seemed distant and unsmiling but proved to be very helpful and even broke into a smile a couple of times. Really good value for money - quite basic but clean, pleasant balcony to sit out, well equipped kitchen to use, good shower in shared bathroom, a couple of minutes from super beach and bars and restaurants for every budget in St Lawrence Gap. Would go back! Needs air conditioning.
