I am a traveler and have already been to more than 30 hostels. 'Rio Nature' was my worst experience. First, the staff: unfriendly and unprofessional. They do not speak Portuguese, they speak an incompressible English and do not help you with anything (information, maps). Secondly, the cleanliness. HORRIBLE. The bathrooms/kitchen were all dirty, VERY dirty. Finally, the security. a guest had a big problem. Rio is an amazing city! DO NOT spoil/mess you stay going to this hostel.

The hostel was ok, but dirty... The organisation was not good, but the staff was ok. And at the second day, I was very angry about the bathrooms and tell the people that I will make a bad comment in the Internet so they started cleaning and from that day it was much better!! As a comment I would add, thats its such a nice place, because of its location and view with nature and monkeys, but it could be so much prettier if they put some more work in it!!! Many steps you have to climb, but you earn

there are new dorms and old dorm, who are based on the top of the hostel. the bigger dorm, the old one are probably the worst. never see this before. Staff are "ok"...don't try to ask to much, you will feel you make them boring. Don't forget to add your name on your stuffs in the fridge, staff eat your foods. what say else? location? yeah. good. but coppacabana is not the best place to stay in Rio. If you have a little bit more of budget, pay 1 or $2 more and get an hostel more clean.

Friendly staff, all in all a nice place, that may be missing a bit of love in some of his rooms that seem more of a military barrack than from a hostel ;) I am obliged to mention the cool monkeys that appear during breakfast!

we only stayed here for two nights but it was a great hostel! a bit rough around the edges but the atmosphere and character of the place is lovely. also is in a really nice area, just a short walk to copacabana beach :) theres a hill behind the hostel which has the most amazing view of the city so give it a go! just dont get lost as the paths a bit hidden. i would definitely stay again as the people were really nice and super helpful, they spoke english too which was great :)

I wouldn't recommend this hostel unless you are very short on money. There are long stairs and it was very hard to carry our luggage to the room. The night we stayed there, the hostel had no water so you couldn't use the showers or flush the toilets. The breakfast was good. The rooms we're alright, but they had no air conditioning just a ceiling fan so it was very hot. I think for a little bit more money you can stay somewhere better.

It was cheap. Not a clean or nice place, but exactly what you can expect for the money. At least the beds and sheets were really clean. Then the rest doesn't matter that much.

We didn't like the hostel . The hostel is not clean. The price is not worth the money. No AC And the most important , you need to climb 160 stairs to reach the room

Whilst in a fairly good location, this hostel is disgusting in so many ways. The bathrooms are disgraceful, with the toilets almost always blocked, toilet seats hanging off etc. The showers are ice cold and filthy. There are only 3 bathrooms shared between about 20 people. The rooms are small + dingy. A couple of members of staff (the English + Argentinian guys) are reasonably friendly and helpful, the rest rude and uninterested. It is non-stop noise until about 4am each night. A horrible stay.

I hate to leave a bad comment as the staff here were so nice, but this really was the worst hostel i have ever stayed in in my life... no matter how low your expectations are you will still be shocked at how filthy this plcae is. the bathrooms are always dirty and the toilets often blocked. the dorms had no locked doors, there were safes for valuables but not enough for everybody. you have to walk up a huge flight of stairs to get to the main part of the hostel. the beds were very old.

Difficult to locate, no street number or building marker, have to hike up stares to get to dorm. Contact with wildlife was fun but had a few menacing spiders on the ceiling of the balcony, ready to attack. Hot and party starts around 10:00 and didn't stop until early morning (so no sleep during carnival). Located on the side of a mountain (covered in exotic plants) with nice view above the tree line. Staff very friendly and helpful.

I have stayed at over a hundred hostels and this was by far one of the worst. Óut of 5 showers, only 2 had hot water. They didnt have any toilet paper in the bathrooms most of the time. The staff were helpful although a lot of the information was inaccurate. There were ants in the bed and most of the burners on the hotplates didnt work. Dont stay here. Spend a couple of extra dollars and stay at Lemon Spirit.

The hostel is very well placed and the staff was really nice. However it was really dirty and sometimes noisy. I absolutely don't recommend to come here as a couple. The breakfast is free and in the morning there are some little monkeys that come on the terrace to have bananas and that is great! Well it's dirty but at least you see monkeys every morning : )

The hostel is not been looked after properly. All maintenence jobs are done very amaturistic. The people make this hostal, without the visitors good mood, it would be a disaster. Bathroom facilities are amongs the most dirty one in South America and I travelled a lot.

The hostel was good, but cleaning standards of toilets was rather poor. Staff was very helpful. IFacilities seemed a bit improvised but talking to the staff they are working to improve many things. If you are not too peaky it's good value for money.
