Nice hostel in a nice area close to the beach, a shopping centre and bus stops. The dorms are a bit cramped (3-storey bunkbeds!) and the kitchen is a bit small but the atmosphere is good and so is the breakfast. Also, the price is one of the cheapest we found!

Excellent location, average staff, poor cleanliness, good for fast stay.

If i only had 3 words to describe Rio Soul, I would say 'Best Hostel Ever", but since i have a few more ill elaborate. The staff are amazing, all of them. They make you feel like your family while staying there. They are super friendly, down to earth, and very helpful. The atmosphere is awesome if you like to party and have fun, otherwise it may not be the one for you. Great location and close to everything. I will stay at Rio Soul EVERY time I'm in Rio, and will recommend it to everyone i know

Perfect hostel! We traveled to Brazil for the World Cup and we have a nice experience there. In the relation price/quality, we choose thinking that was one of the best option, and was a good decision! The staff is fiendly, and the location is in a beautiful and central area of Rio. Thanks a lot! =)

Really enjoyed our stay at the Rio Soul. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The bathrooms (ladies) were the cleanest I've seen in South America. The location is good too - right next to the metro. Breakfast is good too! The only downsides would be the bedrooms are too cramped (no space for backpacks so you have to hike over them to get to your bed) and also the kitchen facilities weren't the best- you're probably better eating out in one of the restaurants nearby.

Awesome hostel to stay in all the staff were great and the atmosphere every night was good. The 12 bed dorm was a little bit cramped but eveyone made do. The young guys that own it are making lots of improvements where its needed. You wont be disappointed you will have a great time.

Went over to Rio Soul Hostel for a few days during the world cup and met a group of like-minded, similarly aged Brazilians setting up an exciting place to stay! On entering the hostel I was immediately greeted by people who wanted me to have the most fulfilling stay in RIO - via information that isn't in the average guide books I hope to go to RIO SOUL HOSTEL again for Carnival !!! Many thanks guys and hopefully see you again Alex

It´s quite a new hostel with lots of things to improve, but they will get there, managed by a group of young people who really wants to improve. Amazing atmosphere located really close to Copacabana. The best thing: THE STAFF. Everybody at Rio Soul were incredible helpful, specially their manager Breno, who could be the manager of a 5 stars hotel. Next time I go to Rio...i wouldn´t dount it, I´m going back to Soul
