The Rising Cock Hostel is the best hostel I've ever stayed in! The staff are amazing and take care of everything! Mamma makes crepes and tika tika juice very morning. The atmosphere is awesome and keeps us coming back for more!!!

Rising Cock was probably the best hostel I've ever stayed at. The atmosphere and staff were amazing, Lagos is incredible, and momma is the best hostel worker in the world. If you're in your 20's and looking for a great time in paradise, you need to come here.

Hands down the best hostel I have stayed at. The staff was very welcoming and friendly and everyone was always down to party. Mama and Papa were the sweetest couple, they made sure you had the best time in Lagos whether you were there to party or relax on the beach. Mama's crepes and hangover tea are the perfect thing to wake up to in the morning. The hostel was very comfortable and had surprisingly big beds. Lagos was my favorite place I visited largely due to Rising Cock!

The Rising Cock Hostel was definitely one of the best that we have stayed in. From the moment we got there it was an amazing atmosphere, great staff, good music, just all around good vibes. Mama and Papa were some of the kindest people i had met. Would just like to say thanks to the staff for making our trip all that it was and for putting up with our drunk shenanigans every night and making us feel so welcome.Miss it and all of you like crazy! The Rising Cock is a special place. We heard about it from a friend that said, "you have to come here." Well, we did and we definitely made the right choice. This hostel is probably one of the best hostels we have ever stayed at and that is saying a lot. Coming from someone who has stayed at 100+ hostels, it is nice to find something special in a hostel. The party scene is crazy so only come if you are interested to have a great time. The staff is incredible, special shout-outs to both Megs! ;)

Unbelievable hostel. Not many like it in the world. Staff there to genuinely make you have an absolute hoot, nurse you back to health in the morning, very inclusive and not afraid of a wee sangria. Fully recommend if you want to take on Lagos any night of the week.

Party party party! Staff were friendly and helpful. Mama's daily crepe breakfast was delicious! Definitely a great spot if you're looking for a good time in Lagos!

Solo female traveller & my first hostel stay. Was quiet when I stayed at the Cock (mid april) but still had an amazing couple of days around town with the staff and few guests that did stay there. Really clean & comfy. Good location to go out or to walk to any of the beaches. Good/cheap meals across the road @ the Nahnahbar but close to the main strip of cafe's etc. I basically felt like I lived there & didn't want to leave. 5 days wasnt long enough!

Was during off season but still had a great stay! The size of the hostel is nice - biggish but still small enough to meet people!

This hostel was by far the best hostel I've ever stayed in. It is more like a house, the staff are awesome, particularly mama. Lagos Portugal was by far the best holiday I've ever had, so much fun, mainly due to the rising cock. Will recommend to everyone.

I had mixed feelings about this hostel. It lived up to its description of being a party hostel and Mama was without a doubt the best hostel owner/manager I've ever met, she truly cared about her guests. But it was filled with loud Americans (some diversity wouldn't have hurt) and some of the newer staff were pretty unhelpful (they were either too high to function or not at the desk when I needed them).

The Rising Cock is an amazing hostel. The staff is extremely helpful/friendly (especially Mike Gottlieb and Mama). The location is perfect and the atmosphere is great for younger travelers looking to rage by night and chill by day.

If you only want to party, then I guess this is the place for you- I myself tend to like sleeping for more than 30 seconds intervals. The constant blaring of 90 music from the reception made my stay in the ridiculously decorated "princess" 6 bed dorm unbearable for most of the time. Crepes were not worth it bc the weren't even served up until well after 830 am. Basically this hostel caters to American spring breakers and other party goers, whom do nothing with their days but sit on the beach.

The rising cock was by far one of my favorite hostels I've ever stayed. It was so much fun and "mama" was so welcoming. Not to mention, her unlimited creeps are amazing. Would definitely reccomend staying here with a big group of friends for a spring break trip to Lagos. You won't be disappointed!
