The private room isn't private enough! We can hear the murmur during midnight from mix dorm. And Hostel just located by industrial road. When the truck pass by the wall is shaking and bad sound proof. But the cleanliness is really good and passionate staff.

Country Life, quiet ,peaceful environment, friendly staff, clean, home made breadfast, 1 minutes to beach, full service even pick up and drop off at the train station if needed, highly recommended.

the rising sun is a great place to get a breath of fresh air right in front of the pacific ocean. it's also a great place to surf whereas you beginner or advanced level!! the staff are really friendly and always concerned about their guest, as well as cooking some delicious meal, helping to fing out about transportation... feels like at home!!!!

The hostel is outside of Yilan, right next to the beach and Waiao trainstation. There is nothing around the area, no restaurants and the train only goes once every hour, so its hard to move around. You can rent a scooter however or call a taxi, although it took half an hour to get one, even though the staff called one. For laying on the beach and surfing its a good hostel. They have 2 dogs and 1 of them took my flipflop, was not too happy with that. Staying here for 1 or 2 nights is alright.

i travel alone to this isolated place in waiao. not even my local taipei friend knew about this place.Great escape from the hustling & bustling city.Nice place to relax even u don't know how to surf.could rent a bike to the nearest Museum and take a leisure walk on that sandy beach.the hostel staff Brandon is very friendly, he took me to jiaoxi hotspring at night which it's my first experience. Morning we go up to Brown Coffee castle to take a bird eye view of waiao from the top & enjoy coffee

Amazing experience in Rising Sun!! Friendly and genuine staff (friends!!). Had the most wonderful experience for all hostels i had been! Good location, safe, clean, close to the beach. If you like a different experience and to be away from the crowded areas, this is surely your right choice!

Great spot to stop for a surf, go to hot springs not far away from the location and check out the landscape of Taiwan. Exellent value for money and very friendly staff. Be sure to visit!

It's a quiet rural area of Ilan. A great place for weekend getaway from the hustle and bustle of Taipei. Met some awesome people at the hostel and had a wonderful night at the ginger duck dinner.

It is located in a quiet town which has literally nothing. The staff is nice and helpful. Thanks for arranging the taxi for paragliding.

In e 1st place, it's in a quiet town. So it's a great place to relax n escape from city life. E staff r super friendly and makes u feel at home. For surfers, u can hav a great time there 2.

Nice view. You can see sunrise everyday But it is not very clean. Also the locker is located in the sleep room so it is convenient to get your thing when you sleep in the room. You need go out your sleeping room and walk around 10 M to go to the counter and locker. However the counter will be closed after 10 or 11 PM. Also the price of the food offered by hostel is VERY HIGH !

Besides the beach and in a quiet village, good place for people who want to relax. Had fun in the surfing lesson. Staff are friendly and nice. Will come back again next time in Yilan.

Incredibly friendly and helpful Staff made this stay in an already beautiful, clean and beachfront hostel a great experience, will hopefully be back very soon.
