Ritas Hotel and Beach Restaurant Reviews

At 10pm the bar next to Ritas starts playing extremely loud music, and it just doesn\'t stop. Even using some of the best earplugs in the world, it\'s like sleeping in the middle of a nightclub. Which is fine if you\'re 20 something and you came to party. But there IS no party. It\'s just an empty bar playing incredibly loud music and shooting off loud fireworks once in a while to attract customers. The whole day after was ruined as I only had 3 hours of sleep during the night. Not recommended.

This was one of the worst hotels that I have ever stayed at. None of the staff knew how much a room cost. I was asked to check in several times after already having checked in. The manager was unprofessional and rude. I paid for a room with hot water. There was no water at all and when I spoke to the manager about this he didn't care and said he was doing me a favor by letting me stay at his hotel. Stay next door for half the price! Do not go to Ritas Hotel!

when we arrived we were said that they had done a double booking and we couldn't get the room we were promised to. We had worse room which was really bad; after one night we got another for few nights and then we had to change again; so instead of getting one room we wanted to we got three different ones and had to carry our things from one room to another all the time. Luckily the two other rooms were nicer than the first one.

The budget rooms were a bit bare and worn but the price is right. If you can splurge for a second story ocean view, the view and breeze was amazing. It's right on the beach and in the middle of everything. It was very easy to get a transfer to the airport in Colombo - hint - spend an extra night here instead of dusty Colombo.

Enjoyed staying here...great restaurant and staff.Would recommend to our friends.
