This is a lodge so do not expect a nice cosy hostel as I did. Going to the facilities from your room requires you to walk in the freezing cold outside. My room of 4 is rather tiny with only 1 power point. That being said, if you are an outdoor person, you will like it here. There is a nice gazebo for you to relax in and the kitchen is fully equip except for a microwave. They have an oven instead. Excellent view right beside a river. Office hrs is before 5pm. Remember to inform if late check-in
More like a camp site rather then a hostel. Booked a double room and got put in a tiny little wooden cabin. Was just two single matteresses pushed together with tiny rock hard couch cushions. Also only given 2 sheets as lodge is next to the river it was freezing and had to pay another 5 euro for another blanket. We also had our food and drinks stolen from the fridge by a school group staying at the lodge. Overall bad experience would not recommend. Only good thing were the showers.
Great location right on the river far away from the extremely touristy part of the town, yet close to Interlaken Ost train station. Clean rooms and beds. Good place as a student, but there were also quite a few families, mostly campers.

The room, toilet, bathroom is dirty. The entire hostel at least have 40-50ppl but the only got one bathroom. Too many kids, lousy at night. Washing machine only got one and avaiable to use only from 9am to 7pm. And it always using by the staffs, almost impossible to use the machine. The cleaniness of the kitchen is fair, but doesn't provide any dishes or cus or tableware. Not recommend to traveller who are not driving or backpackers, because the route to the hostel is full of rocks
We stayed in a "pod" and it was the coolest lodging in our 2-week European vacation. We wish we could have stayed longer! We are now inspired to build our own pod for home! Really, the pod was a great way to feel as though we were staying in our own little place, but with the budget and amenities of a hostel. I would highly recommend it and River Lodge.
